Barbara and Jenna left early to the club to inquire for Elon Parker so she can retrieve her bag and take her ID to her job interview later that day. When they got there, they weren't allowed in by the security guards as it was working hours and they didn't provide any passport to show they are also workers there. They stood a bit far from the club arena waiting patiently for the security guards to change their mind.
"This is all your fault Jenna, I didn't want to come to the club in the first place but you forced me," Barbara grumbled with annoyance.
"Don't tryna shift the blame on me, I never asked you to get drunk and lose your bag," Jenna replied.
"Besides you left without any trace even as it was my first time visiting the club, you left me all to myself," Barbara scoffed.
"Don't bring up this issue again, I thought we had argued a lot about it at home and decided to settled it before showing up here?" Jenna asked.
"No, until my bag is found, this issue isn't over," Barbara replied seriously.
"I have apologized countlessly since last night but you don't want to accept it yet. I can't change whatever that happened last night, you were the one that was very careless," Jenna accused. This made Barbara flare up and she started ranting nonstop, putting more blames on jenna.
"Where did you go that night? Who did you follow?" She asked her.
"You found a partner and I went in search of mine, you wouldn't expect to continue sitting on our table just to watch over you, comon you ain't a kid anymore," Jenna replied.
"This is bullshit," Barbara lamented. While the argument lasted, they sighted one of the workers leaving for home. It was obvious he worked all night just by his stressed appearance.
"Please excuse me," Jenna called out and rushed towards him. Barbara followed but stood behind Jenna. The guy's appearance was intimidating, he looks like one of the bouncers walking there in the club hours.
"Can we borrow a little of your time?" Jenna asked in a polite tone.
"I have no time to borrow, just go straight to the point," the guy replied in a harsh tone. Jenna swallowed before she said to him.
"We are looking for Mr Elon Parker."
"How did you know him?" The guy asked with a shocked expression.
"Do you know him?" Jenna asked.
"Stay away from him," the guy said and started walking out on them.
"He has something that is ours," Jenna said.
"Forget about it," the guy replied and went away. Jenna and Barbara were left wondering why the guy replied that way but they ain't just going to give up when they need the things inside the bag. They saw another guy approaching them, he was a cleaner, Jenna hurried towards him and stopped him.
"How may I be of help?" he asked her.
"We are looking for Mr Elon Parker, we met him here two nights ago. He has our property," Jenna said.
"I don't know who you are talking about," the cleaner guy replied.
"Can you help us check for a misplaced brown bag?" Jenna asked.
"Someone took it from our custody yesterday," the cleaner guy replied.
"Who's the person?" Jenna asked.
"I can't remember," the cleaner guy replied.
"Please just tell us the truth, you guys can't just hand out someone else's property without the person's consent and awareness," Jenna said.
"We did because the bag owner was seen with the guy that took it," the cleaner guy replied.
"Here is the owner, do you recognize her?" Jenna asked and beacokened Barbara to come closer.
"I don't recognize her, the lady that night was looking rather hot and curvy with makeup while this one here is very plain and normal," the cleaner replied after studying Barbara's appearance.
"She is still the one, the only difference was that she was on makeup and was dressing differently that night. It doesn't change the fact that she isn't the one now she is looking casual," Jenna replied.
"Her passport then, I will need it to access the phone found inside," the cleaner said.
"It's all inside the bag and she needs it for an interview which would be coming up in two hours time," Jenna explained.
"The bag is no longer in our custody anyways and I would advise you to forget about it," the cleaner said. That was when Barbara got angry and spoke up.
"Forget about what?" she asked.
"You probably know I'm the owner but you just don't want to hand it over. Looking differently that night is a lame excuse because everyone does have a different look after applying a makeover. I need my bag, my properties are inside," Barbara thundered, almost losing her breath before she started panting very hard. She wasn't the talking type and avoided talking in such situations because she was also very short tempered and always exploded when not taken seriously.
"I would advise you to forget about the bag and leave before you create a scene," the cleaner guy replied.
"No, if I don't get my bag. I'm going to call the cops," Barbara threatened.
"That won't be a good idea because you would totally regret it," the cleaner guy replied in a cold voice.
"Barb, calm down," Jenna pleaded. "Can we see the manager and make a report," Jenna said.
"No, quietly leave," the cleaner guy advised and started walking out on them.
"This is bullsh*t," Barbara exclaimed with anger. She started heading towards the cleaner guy but Jenna held her back.
"Put yourself together Barb, this is not the time you are going to fight or create a scene. if you really want your bag, let's tread gently," Jenna advised.
"I hate all this, that's why I'm always on my lane, living my life quietly. But you decided to drag me out of my shell and now, look how everything ended up," Barbara yelled with anger.
"Calm down Barb and don't yell at me, you are already creating a scene and this is a quiet place," Jenna advised.
"Why shouldn't I? infant I'm involving the cops," Barbara concluded.
"And make my parents get to know about my lifestyle?" Jenna asked Barbara.
"I don't care, you choose that lifestyle not I. I can't just miss an interview that's gonna change my life entirely because of my Identification ID," Barbara said.
"Please you have to be calm. I know I made a mistake, I'm sorry... I didn't have it in mind that it would turn out this way. Who knew that the guy from that night was a bad person," Jenna said calmly which made Barbara quieten down a bit. They saw another worker from the club approaching them, Jenna also rushed towards him and stopped him.
"Please we are looking for a brown bag that was misplaced at the club here two nights ago, do you know who took it?" Jenna asked with pleading eyes.
"You are talking about the brown bag with an ID, phone and some wads of money?" the guy asked back.
"Yes," Jenna replied.
"It was Mr E..."
"Sorry, he doesn't know too," the cleaner guy from earlier interjected and started dragging the guy away. As they started heading back inside the club, the cleaner whispered something to the guy and his expression became grave and he almost became white with anxiety.
"It seems they are hiding something from us," Jenna whispered to Barbara. She didn't reply and continued looking at them.
"Let's go," Barbara quietly said after some time.
"Are you giving up already?" Jenna asked.
"Yes, I have to," Barbara replied. "That's for now," Barbara replied and started leaving. Jenna followed her and they left quietly.
**** **** *****
"They are gone Boss," the cleaner reported over the phone.
"Good, don't ever let them get to me. About the bag, I'm using her identification card to confirm something," a cold voice replied.
"Alright! But they promised to involve the cops," the cleaner guy said.
"Don't worry, her friend doesn't have good records with the cops, her parents would take her back home when the cops inform them of the issues on ground," the voice replied.
"Okay boss," the cleaner guy said.
"Tell Dan to show up in my office."
"I apologize on behalf of him, he wasn't aware but I have made everything clear to him," the cleaner said.
"Tell everyone that any little mistake again, there would be huge consequences," the voice replied.
"Yes Boss, I will make it clear to everyone," the cleaner said before the call ended. He watched Barbara and Jenna as they walked farther than the main road from the second floor. "If only they wouldn't involve themselves further in this again," he wished and left to resume his work. As Barbara got home that morning, she thought about how to go in to retrieve her bag and passport. She decided to visit the club again tonight and this time around, she would sneak to their main office to search for her bag as she felt that it was there but they just didn't want to give it to her.
