"Wait whaaaaaaa?" is what he thought before his brain became a mushy mess, making him immediately collapse.
After what felt like forever his head was still feeling like an outdated smoothie, feeling his body waking up, he could feel his forehead covered in sweat as well as his back.
Forcing his eyes open he could see two pretty women around him, whom seem to be wearing religious garments which his new body seemed to recognise.
One of the younger priestesses noticed him twitching around, placing a fresh cold towel on his forehead she spoke, "looks like our young chieftain has woken up" she spoke with a slight smirk oh her face, most probably due to his awakening awakening. Soon the two priestesses left as their job was done taking care of him.
Looking around his surroundings he noticed that he was in quite a large room, looking through the memories of his body he found out the following; he is the eldest and only son of the most powerful family in the region being in control of, one of the largest cities in the empire, the body which he now controls was in a coma for a few days after being struck by lightning whilst on a stroll around the city, his new name is Ben after the God of luck in the Pangia continent given by his mother before an infection took her away from him, lastly his father sick from old age which forced Ben to become the regent of the territory that his family holds as he was the next heir to the title of Plodenkts which was and still is a strong family which always challenged the royalty for power in which they won most of the time due to their extensive connections and loyalty of the army to them.
Ben now checking out the System that announced his long term missions, after a few minutes of scrolling up and down the system in his head, he concluded his findings in his imaginary diary that there is a shop with many complicated words and strange looking pointy things as well as a panel that established the wellbeing of his subjects which included loyalty, nutrition, nationalism and ethnonationalism, every single one of them was well above 80%, the system also included 'optional missions' which was filled with short quests that he could complete, which includes; 'finish all paper work that was missed while the saul transfer was in progress. Rewards increase diplomacy skill by 1', 'inspected the life of the overlords subjects, Reward gain skill sharp eye' ^quest unavailable^ and so on and on which was only filled quests that were unavailable to him for some reason, lastly there was a third panel which was on top with the name 'CHARACTER' in bold which outlined the following;
Health - 44/100
Mana - 0/200
stamina- 100/100
Elemental Proficiency - Fire, Spirits
Skills - Wordless Incantation,
body condition - shocked, fatigued, weakened
titles- Plodenkts heir,
Diplomacy - 7
leadership - 3
Intellect - 4
Innovation - 12
Decisions - 7
Knowledge - Modern military tactics, good level knowledge of ancient Greek military tactics, good level knowledge of Roman military tactics industrial age schematics.....
Ben looking through this noticed the schematics part, thinking to himself 'schematics,' it immediately appeared within his mind, which was filled with hundreds of schematics of industrial machines, weapons and cooking recipes for some reason, "I know how to cook" he though to himself before being reminded of the time he nearly burned down his house whilst trying to cook some scrambled eggs which made him give up the idea of ever cooking again.
When he finished looking through the system he decided to accept the only available 'optional mission' available to him as he was curious what he would receive for completing such q simple mission, after accepting the mission he could see the amount of that he needed to complete which read '0/213' on the top right head of his sight.
Getting up from the comfy bed, he slightly struggled to get up, so Ben began to do some warm up exercises which made his muscles wake up after a few squats and push ups, leaving his room which was filled with many ornaments, a short sword, and what looked like armour made from chained rings which was standing up on a practice dummy, the bed in which he was laying in was also somewhat impressive, as it was probably as large as a double bed or even larger than that.
Getting himself dressed into informal attire which in it self was still very formal but also showed the wealth of the Plodenkts family as it was in the colours of blue and red due to the rarity of that colour in their continent, though formal attire contained the rarest colours on the continent it was on the low side, only to show off his status which was on the collar of his clothes as it was easy to see and the traditional place where nobles showed of their status. His clothes were quite easy for him to wear due to the amount of times he wore it in the past, putting it on, took less than a minute to be fully dressed, it comprised of a simple shirt which was of the colour black with blue and red stripes on the collar as well as plain black trousers which were very loose and tightened with a leather belt to stop them from falling off his hips.
Feeling exited and fresh he left his luxurious room to take care of things that were left out due to him going into coma after being struck by lightning. Closing the door behind him he walked through the vast corridor which was the empties he'd seen even in his memories, which made him feel anxious of what was going on while he was gone into coma. Ben still payed it no mind though as he wanted to complete the mission he accepted and finds out what rewards it will give him, finding the nearest servant which had long orange furry ears pointing straight towards the high sky, wearing a simple brown russet, Ben after finding her walking through the empty corridor, he immediately order her to bring him a meal to the main office, she nodded in silence and quickly walked off with her tail wagging from side to side.
Arriving in the main office which was filled with unread messages, requests, alerts, with other things that would need his family name to sign it off, sitting down on the old looking wooden chair which was said to belong to the first Plodenkt noble. Noticing the mountain of paper work, Ben thought to himself 'it's good old tax work, just a lot more often' before his work which started of easy with updates on the territory they hold as well as an update on the Royal position which was worrying to say the least, as the previous monarch was said to have many illegitimate children, but the most worrying part is with the new monarch.
'Let me explain' he though to himself to get the political situation around his head as he himself didn't quite understand what was going on due to his disinterested in politics 'Past Emperor has many illegitimate children which will results in many of them declaring them self's as the real heir to the throne, some of them might be able to rise a Rebel army under the pretext of putting the *rightful Emperor* on the throne some might get support from other nobles to get some free privileges at the mere cost of some lost coin and food supplies from them funding their army. The real problem wasn't greedy nobles or some wannabe Emperors but the strength of the state would be at stake due to the lack of avaliable conscripts and recruits for the Royal army, as most of them would be dried up or would be disloyal towards the emperor, which will leave our territory open for attack by neighbouring tribes and smaller kingdoms and nomads who seek easy loot to strengthen their state by the cost of weakening our state further and our territory if we get dragged into the conflict but even if we don't get dragged into the conflict we will have no support from the Crown or neighbouring nobles as they are busy supplying the rebels with manpower and resources . Now you see we are in for a long ride into the war and States period, or in simple words we're screwed.'
frowning his forehead he began thinking of ways to tackle this problem to protect his territory from external pressures and to protect his wealth, but before he could brainstorm any ideas he was interrupted by a knocking on the door of the main office. To his surprise it was the orange furred servant which he order to bring him a meal, to his surprise she was without the meal he requested which saddened him due to his stomach feeling like an empty pit, quickly she bowed down into a 90 degree angle before returning to a straight body posture and speaking towards the regent of the family, "Sir you have been summoned by the Lord, please follow me" before Bowing down in 90 degrees and walking out from the main office into the not so 'empty' corridor which for some reason was now packing with traffic, Ben swiftly followed behind her unsure of the reason of his summoning to his father.
