After Joseph's death, Zachary and Marcellus…changed a lot. Marcellus didn't talk, nor smile.
They both eventually went back to school, where Arthur tried his best to help Marcellus.
They were already friends, but because Arthur stuck with Marcellus through the worst period in his life, they became best friends.
A year has now passed since the incident, and Zachary hasn't overcome his grief. Everytime he sees Marcellus, he insults him, messes with him, bullies him.
Doing anything and everything possible to hurt Marcellus. Through this, as said before, over time Zachary's personality was distorted in one of arrogance, disdain, apathy, cruel, insecure and above all, hateful.
