Chereads / HIS MATE, HIS POSSESSION / Chapter 6 - Chapter Six

Chapter 6 - Chapter Six

'What had he been looking for?' Elsa thought inwardly as she strode around the kitchen. Clearly lost in thought, she didn't see the harsh glances that was sent her way by the other maids.

Reo, one of the castle guards, walked into the kitchen simultaneously.

"The Alpha said to discard all the food. The party has been cancelled"

The mumures began again.

"Isn't that because of this wench?"A voice among the maid said. Not caring that Elsa heard it all.

"Why should the food be discarded, I thought..."Madam Sophia asked the guard but he cut her short.

"He has found his Mate" He turned around and walked out of the kitchen.

Madam Sophia turned to give Elsa a fishy glance, but looked away again.

"But who could his mate be?"There were mumures again as everyone debated who the Luna could be.

Margaret walked closer to Elsa and patted her back lightly.

"It's okay, this isn't your fault"

Elsa nodded solemnly. "Uhmn"

"I'm sure it's because he had found his Mate."

Elsa nodded again.

Madam Sophia spoke up, "The food shouldn't be discarded. After the cleaning. You all should get something to eat, then discard the rest"

Elsa's thoughts wandered far away from her, all she could think of was getting some rest and right now she wasn't up for any commotions among the Maids.

surely she could tell her heart was in her mouth when she has bumped into the Alpha today, she couldn't tell why she's feeling that way but what she knew is that she wasn't ready to fall in love with a man that had killed her family, And mostly he wasn't even human. No matter how handsome or what he is she won't allow him to take control of her feelings.

And now thankfully the guard said he had found his mate. So her mind should be free from him.

Elsa joined the other maids in clearing up the entire kitchen.

After the cleaning was done and she felt she would finally be able to get some rest, There's was a voice from the hallway upstairs.

"All the maids should gather up, the Alpha wants to choose a personal Maid" Lewis said.

All the maids gathered together, leaving whatever they were doing alone. some were happily whispering among themselves, wishing the Alpha will choose them.

Elsa walked closer to the other Maids, trying to get covered up so she wouldn't be choosen. Even though that was just a fair thought. they were many beautiful women here, better than her by far. So her mind was at peace that she can't be.

There was a dead silence when the Alpha's presence was known. Everyone kept quiet for fear.

After some few minutes of silence, Lewis spoke up.

"She should come up." he told madam Sophia and the woman gasped.

"She?" Madam Sophia asked

"That's who he wants"

Elsa looked up to check who they were talking about. But met the utermost shock of her life.

Madam Sophia was pointing towards her, signaling her to come forward.

"You all can leave now" Lewis said. And all the maids dispatched, murmuring unhappily.

Only Elsa was left standing In shock.

She? why her? why not someone else?

"Elsa!" Madam Sophia almost screamed out her name when she looked unmoving. The woman walked towards her and pushed her forward.

"The Alpha doesn't like to be kept waiting" She murmured in her ear. And she walked away.

Elsa's racing heart must surely be audible through her thin clothing. She looked up at the hallway, where the Alpha was standing. But he wasn't there. Even his right hand man wasn't too.

And she was told to go up to his chamber. Where she would get another wiff of his scent.

She climbed the stairs slowly, and getting to his door, it took her all eternity to knock the door.

When she finally did, His thick, cold hot voice rang out.

"Come" Was the only statement he gave.

Elsa opened the door as slowly as she could, and walked in even more slowly.

The room was dimly lit. But she could see him sitting at the far side of the room. Sipping wine.

"Come here" He said but Elsa turned a deaf hear to what he said.

"I'm your personal Maid my Lord and..."

"Come here" He repeated.

Oh my God. Elsa thought as she walked hesitatedly towards him.

When she was few feet away, he stood up suddenly and walked towards her. She wanted to shift back but he grabbed her arm at the last minute. drawing her to himself.

"My Lord!" Elsa gasped when his nostrils traced her neck and his warm breath sent her into thousand thoughts. His scent invaded her nostrils and she wanted so much to curl into his arms. But she couldn't.

"You....." He began. Drawing her closer.

Elsa wanted to free herself from his grip on her arm. But he took that opportunity to draw her closer, his arms going around her waist.

He was still scenting her and Elsa wondered why.

"Please let me go!"

At her whimpering voice, Lucan took a step back. looking deep into her eyes.

"I'm your personal Maid, not...not..." She couldn't finish her speech before he shut her up.

" You must always be close to me at all times. I assume Sophia has explained all you need to do "

She shook her head. Taking more cautious steps back. She could see, from his expression that he wanted to touch her. but she can't allow him.

"You must always be at my beck and call. Do not work for others except me. that's an order. you mustn't disobey that"

Yes my Lord" She bowed and turned to leave but he stopped her.

"What's your name?" he asked.

She wished she could lie to him, so he wouldn't know her real name but she can't. If he find out, he'd be furious.

"Elsa." She mumured and practically ran out of the room. Not waiting to check if he had something else he wants to say.

The beating of her heart when she closed the door behind her could be heard from miles away. She took in deep breaths after breaths. Trying to calm her racing heart. She must've been so tired that it made her cheeks so red.

Walking down the stairs, with her hand on her chest. she thought, her life is in danger, as well as her heart.

Around the corner, a woman stood, smiling sheepishly. "Now that the Alpha has found someone to love and cherish, it is time to end this love before it even begin." The voice said, moving away from the dark side of the hallway, and walking downstairs, to meet her co workers. It is time to begin the long planned game.
