Larissa could only look at Clara and Samuel with tears in her heart. She leaned her head against her husband's chest, shedding tears helplessly. Thomas rubbed his wife's back, trying to calm her down.
"The path of love will be different. Just pray for their good," said Thomas. "Don't you remember that our journey was not smooth either?"
Larisa just nodded. She knew what her husband said was true, but she knew Clara's burden must be heavy. She realized the girl had other burdens that she couldn't tell anyone about.
Meanwhile, Clara crumpled the handkerchief in her hand. "Thank you. I didn't expect you to still have it," Clara said in a trembling voice, without looking at Samuel. Tears seeped into her lips, making her taste her salty tears.
"Maybe, in my heart I had hoped to meet that handkerchief owner again. However, my ego prevented me from looking for her," answered Samuel, smiling bitterly.
