"Why do they even close an elevator? Are we already having electric bill debts?" She grumbled walking down the stairs with her high heels which were three inches silver in color matched with a black suit.
With her inches, it was rough to go down the stairs, she felt like her ankle would snap out at any minute. She got over to the reception desk after descending all those stairs and it was also dark. Everyone had clocked out.
She got down to the underground parking lot where she had parked her car.
She first wiggled her wristwatch to align it and see what time it was, it had just clocked 8 pm. While gazing at her watch, someone out of nowhere pushed her before taking the handbag she was carrying and ran away.
With that rough tug, she went down onto the rough floor scrapping her hands and light bruises on her knees. She got up to chase the thief but her knees were aching and the thief had gotten away and distant.
She stood there like an idiot gazing at the figure that had vanished, luckily, she didn't carry any important documents inside that handbag. Luckily her car key was inside the trouser suit pocket, she didn't have to worry about how to get back home.
She was only worried about her mobile phone, but since she had savings, she would buy a brand new one and replace the line as soon as possible.
She opened the car and settled down in the driver's seat and ignited the engine, but she could feel some sneaky eyes glaring at her, of late, she doesn't recall offending anyone who would harbor any sinister thoughts toward her.
She lightly shook her head, "Maybe it's my mind that has been overworked..." She drove out of the parking lot onto the highway.
After a few minutes' drive, she finally arrived back at the Su mansion, she parked the car before alighting and strolling over to the entrance door.
She could hear some cheerful voices echoing from the inside, she exhaled loudly smiling before stepping inside.
"Sister... Why are you coming back home so late? They didn't see you in class today! Where did you go?" A soft and coyish voice echoed from the living area, Su Mao lifted her head and gazed at the filled-up living room with so many family members.
Everyone had a happy face and giggling here and there seemingly having a merry chat. She felt so left out.
"I had things to do in the office..." Su Mao lightly mumbled as she strode over to the kitchen to get some water to drink.
" Su Mao, how could you talk to the shareholders like that? Don't you know how to manage them? " Su Feng Ying stood up loudly bellowing, that he was Su Mao's birth father even though he had more kids from his first wife as Su Mao was birthed by the second wife.
"You do know that they were just being ridiculous and whatever agendas they wanted to push through weren't feasible. Why should I listen to that nonsense? " Su Mao was infuriated by her father's thinking, did he think that those shareholders cared about the company? they were only bothered by the dividends they would get by the end of the day.
"Do you think you are that capable? You think now you have all the knowledge to manage the company?" Su Feng Ying roughly slapped her face leaving people inside the living room bewildered and gawking at them.
"Sis, don't argue with father... You know whatever he is saying is for your own good, also... How come you don't have your handbag, are you truly coming from the office?" Su Mei walked over to her sister's side and hugged her arm intimately swinging it.
With anger that was already bubbling in her heart, Su Mao roughly brushed her off, but Su Mei accidentally fell onto the floor surprising everyone.
"Su Mao--------" She weakly muttered as her eyes teared up... They all rushed over to assist her in getting up from the floor while Su Mao gazed at them wondering what wrong she committed.
"How can you push your sister like that?" Su Feng Ying yelled at her coldly slapping her all over again across the face, at the same spot.
Su Mei was almost the same age as Su Mao, they only had a difference of six months or so and were born out of different mothers. Su Mei was the elder one of Su Mao... But everyone in the Su family was jealous of Su Mao as it was the Old Man who had chosen her to take over the Company Presidency from him.
Su Mao was termed as a smart and intelligent girl, who would take care of the Su Company, but everyone was jealous and even her father hated her for it.
