Now I love speculative evolution. It's basically if you take a animal and make speculations on how it will develop and you can do this using simple things such as frogs or even humans.
Personally I like all tomorrows and man after man but I won't bet on you actually knowing about this.
So go read it. It's simply a exquisite piece of literature which I one day hope to create a fancy smanshy shrine for gilded with gold and with jewels or all kinds embedded in it.
Weird and expensive but I have bad taste both literally and metaphorically.
But anyways I've thought of a few creatures of my own. I'm too lazy to do actual research for them since I'm not a biologist or science man at all but I have one thing all thing baboon and ape creatures have.
A brain
I know I know a rare thing in todays society but I'll let you know my brain is not the sharpest tool in the shed and is probably comparable to a spoon.
Anyways back onto the topics at hand.
Echo flowers. Basically a plant that can take sounds and reflect it around itself. Ex. Scream near it and it'll scream for a few minutes afterward while sounding similar to you.
How it'll work I have no clue
But the potential!
You can use it for sending messages(although quite it'll be quite hard), record down information, and even pranks if you part of the Weasley family.

Bone spitters
I can't decide if I want to make it a reptile or a llama yet. Reptiles seem to fit but llamas can spit(hey that rhymed).
Anyway basically different skins for the same functionality. They take bones(either their own teeth or from other animals) and spit them.
They would require quite a modified mouth and throat to be able to do it but either way sounds cool.
Plus a strong pair of jaws and teeth is needed to protection when their are no bones to spit or for removing bones from carcasses.
Anyways just imagine walking towards a ordinary normal fluffy llama then next moment having high speed slimy bone shrapnel being shot at you while getting chased by a rampaging llama.
This imagery brings me a high amount of dopamine in my ape brain.
