He asked and William responded,

Aroth's eyes quickly squint and stare closely at William as if he is trying to read his mind. The young man quickly looked back at him, and smiled.
'Are you talking about the demons who have managed to enter our world?'
William nodded his head and added, 'I only learned about it recently. And since there is someone among them with a bigger debt than you, I decided to spare you. After all, that one took one of my friend's lives in the past.'
