Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE

"You?!"

"Sir?!"

The exclamation that came out of the mouths of Senja Alexandro and Mentari Jingga made the people around them stare at each other. Let alone feeling embarrassed by the screams just now that have already attracted the attention of the visitors of this restaurant, Senja and Mentari didn't even care about their existence. What became the focus and attention of Senja and Mentari was the chaos that had just been exposed right in front of their eyes.

"You two know each other?" asked Bryan Alexandro, Senja's father. He is a very well-known wealthy businessman and is often featured on television and business magazines. Despite being very rich, Bryan and his family were never arrogant. They love to share with others and always support orphans. In fact, the man whose hair has turned white still looks handsome and dashing at the age of sixty. Even his wife still looks beautiful.

"I think so, Dear," said Lilian Alexandro, Bryan's wife and Senja's mother. The beautiful woman smiled sweetly at a girl who was beautiful and had a beautiful back-length hair who was sitting in front of her. Even though she looked very uncomfortable, Lilian could see Mentari Jingga was trying her best to still look elegant and polite. Beside Mentari Jingga, her father, who is also the same age as Senja Alexandro's father, grimaced and looked confused like Senja Alexandro's parents. "Isn't that right, Mr. Ryan?"

"Ah? Mm... I thought so too. However, Mentari never told me anything about her who already knew Senja." Ryan Kurniawan, a man who also owns a company but not as big as Bryan Alexandro's company, looks at his only child. "You never told Dad that you already knew Senja. And, what do you mean by calling him 'Sir'? He's not that old, sweetheart. He's only eight years apart from you. He's twenty-five."

Mentari Jingga, who had been silent for a long time with a sullen face and annoyance, now groaned in her heart. Not only the dress she was wearing made her very uncomfortable, now she is faced with the fact that the person she will marry, who will become her future life partner, is an arrogant snow-hearted man like Senja Alexandro! Her mortal enemy! God, isn't there a man in this world that she can be matched with, other than Senja? Langit, Matahari, Awan, Guntur or guys with other nature names. Mentari may not want arranged marriages and early marriages like this, but for the sake of her old father who sincerely asks for it because he said it was for Mentari's own happiness so that someone would look after and protect her if he left this world, Mentari was forced to say yes. Moreover, her father had brought up the problems of his old age and the death. Mentari is always sad when her father talks about it because they only live alone. Just the two of them. Mentari's mother had died when the girl was ten years old.

"Dad, Uncle, Aunt," called Mentari in a polite tone. She tried to smile, but Mentari realized that her smile must not look normal right now. What can she do? She's being cranky right now! "That Mr. Senja, who was staring at me while glaring—Look! Whoa! Look at his eyes that are about to pop out of their sockets! He's been glaring at me ever since!—is a BK teacher and Indonesian language teacher, as well as my homeroom teacher this year. I also just found out that Mr. Senja is going to be my homeroom teacher in this eleventh grade, a week ago, because it was only a week ago that I also advanced to the eleventh grade. But, me and him already on bad terms since I enrolled to high school. Uncle, Aunt, I don't know why, but he's always act annoying towards me." Mentari shook her head and chuckled a few times, showing an expression that she was very confused and didn't know why this had happened to her.

Senja Alexandro, who had been silent all this time and was now sitting with his arms crossed, snorted. He knew it was disrespectful behavior, considering that his parents and Mentari's father were in front of him, but Senja couldn't help himself after hearing the unqualified chatter from one of the students at his school. Then, the twenty-five year old man smirked. Of course it made Mentari raise an eyebrow. Perhaps this is the true nature of a Senja Alexandro. Not like at school, where the man was very authoritative and scary. Err... it's just as scary as now, though.

"Yes, obviously I'm sensitive to you and always hostile to you. You are always making trouble since the beginning. From time to time, you went to the BK room, occasionally met me. I'm bored! I want all students in the school to be free from the BK room. No need to go in there. Yes, my prayers have been answered. No one has ever entered the BK room, except for you, Mentari."

Bryan, Lilian and Ryan could only take turns looking at the two people who had been matched and paired. Their debate didn't even stop there.

"Sir, I'm a girl who defends the truth! Of course I have to put up a fight if attacked by the opponent. I also have to defend my friends who are attacked by others. You never know, right, that in our school, there are a lot of oppression and so on. I am the one who eradicated all of that." Mentari nodded her head proudly. "If it wasn't for me, there might have been many innocent victims."

"You can report things like that to me and other teachers, Mentari," said Senja in a cold and sharp tone. Well, this... this is the nature of Senja at school that Mentari hates the most. Yes, indeed there is not a single good trait in that guy that Mentari can see. "You can not acting by yourself."

"But—"

"All right, stop," said Lilian. The woman laughed and rubbed Senja's arm who was beside her, sitting between her and her husband. Then, Lilian looked at the sullen Mentari. "Mentari, Auntie apologizes if Senja's behavior and attitude at school makes you uncomfortable, okay?"

"Why are you apologized, Mom? Senja is just doing his job." Senja frowned. Can't accept his mother apologizing for him, when he doesn't feel like he's done anything wrong.

However, Lilian shook her head and smiled at her son.

"Well, then, how about we go straight to the main event now?" Bryan Alexandro laughed loudly and rubbed his hands together. Then, he took out a red ring box and placed it on the table. Seeing the box, immediately Mentari and Senja got goosebumps. Their faces paled, it was like seeing a very scary ghost. "Now, let's get straight to the engagement ring exchange, shall we? Senja, you put the ring on Mentari's ring finger. Later, Mentari will also put the ring on Senja's ring finger."

Senja and Mentari stared at each other. Both of them could not move and could only moan in each other's hearts.
