Rosalie and Theodore were in awe of what just happened. Theodore wasn't able to look back at his wife, as all he could feel at the moment was hatred and malice for her. He was sick to his core due to her mean words. Isabella's teary eyes were glued to his vision. He just stood up and, without turning back, he rushed outside towards Isabella. He was looking for her in corridors when his gaze fell on a small yet fragile figure moving towards her room.
"Isa," he starts to call her out, but her low voice breaks out.
"I am okay, dad..."
"Uh… you sure?" Theodore asks cautiously, with slow steps, approaching her silently.
Isabella just hums slowly, with a low "yeah" at the end, as she proceeds to hold the door knob.
"Isabella…" Theodore starts off again.
"Dad… I am okay... Just give me some time... alone… please…" Isabella requested with a sigh.
"Alright," Theodore says while holding his tears silently, as Isabella wasn't even turning back to look at him. With a heavy heart, he saw her fragile and dropped figure entering the room. Not able to handle it anymore with staggered feet, he moves towards the backyard to clear his head.
Rosalie, on the other side, wasn't able to understand what she was feeling. She was going through a roller coaster of emotions. She was feeling guilty for her actions but was also feeling authentic to let her emotions out after so long. Frustrated by herself, she turns around to hold onto her nightstand for support. She caught a glimpse of her flustered self in the mirror, her eyes getting blurry with the rising tears.
"Argh!" she bangs her hand on the nightstand with a sigh. Holding her chest tightly, she sits on the floor while recalling Isabella's teary face. Guilt was eating her insides, but she was too egoistic to accept it.
Isabella, on the other side, enters the room with a light sigh. Amy instantly dashes towards her while exclaiming, "Where were you? "I was so worried!"
"Nowhere… " Isabella mumbles, her head hanging low.
"Hey, where?" Amy asks while grabbing her chin and making her look up.
"Isabella?" she questioned hurriedly as her astonished eyes met with her red ones.
"Nothing," Isabella mumbles while tilting her head to the other side.
"Hey... tell me what happened?" Amy asks softly while grabbing Isabella's shoulder lightly. This was all she needed as she brusts into tears, falling in front of her.
"Isabella?" Amy says as she kneels down in front of her. Holding her face with her chin, she asks, "Hey... Did someone say something? Wait Wayne? Or Zack?"
Isabella was still crying silently while covering her face with her palms. "Bella… please… tell me…" Amy says this while softly brushing her hands away and cupping her cheeks.
Glancing up at her sister Isabella, she let her tears fall. "Mom..." she broke out loudly.
"What mom?" Amy asks softly as she wipes tears from her cheeks.
Isabella doesn't say anything and hugs her tightly. Holding her night robe tightly, she cries on her chest. Amy lets her cry as she pats her back. Isabella was still crying as she mumbled out loud, "She said she hates me."
Amy frowns deeply at her as she unconsciously yells out, "She what?"
Isabella cries out loudly and tells her everything that happened. Amy was deeply shocked by her mother's confession. She knew there were mixed feelings in her heart for Isabella, but she never thought that the feelings were that low. She pats her back continuously, and after several rubs, she allows her to break the hug. Isabella looks down, ignoring Amy's eyes. While she was sighing, Amy stood up and handed her a glass of water.
"Drink it," Amy says sternly. Isabella frowns at her but hesitantly takes the glass. "Drink it all," Amy commands. Ignoring eye contact, Isabella drinks the full glass of water. feeling a little better. Amy grabs her shoulder, making her stand up, and holding her hand tightly, she guides her towards her bed.
"Look, Isabella, what I am going to say now, listen to it clearly," Amy demands.
Isabella nods her head in agreement, looking deeply into her sister's eyes, signalling her to continue. After taking a deep breath, Amy starts squeezing her hands in the process and says, "Okay Isabella, first of all, you did a great job. Like seriously, you told her the exact same words, and she wants to listen. Not everyone can love you, and that's okay. She doesn't deserve your love and affection. In all these years, whatever you did for her to embrace you, she didn't. So it's okay; leave it this way. About your dreams, I know your father will always support us. But what shocked me was that how would she associate you with something you never did? "Now I get to know why Zack is like that," she pauses for a while before saying, "Gosh! That's sick! Bella, you have me and my father! About school, I know you will have friends there too for sure, at least one. Besides that Riddle Genius, I can tell Abraxas and Rose are good ones. You have us; you don't have to listen to them. Just live the way you want.
"I will," Isabella responds while nodding. No tears were now visible in her eyes as she sternly replies, "Her words didn't haunt me that much, because she already showed me enough." Now she just let it out verbally. I was adaptive to her nature for a very long time. She just gave me a margin to let me know to stop trying. Now officially, I will not try to get her affection anymore. "I have my father's love and your companionship enough to get through their hatred."
"Well done. "That's the Isabella I know." Amy says while hugging her. "Hogwarts really worked its magic on you," Amy exclaims while smiling softly at her.
"Yeah, indeed, your Slytherin sister," Isabella beams with a cheeky smile.
"Aww yeah, sista," Amy jokes, causing the duo to laugh a bit. After several minutes, she observes Isabella and then responds, "Okay, enough of this drama." "I'm letting you cry as much as you want for tonight, but not tomorrow."
Isabella's eyes well up with faint tears at her words as she hurriedly buries her face in the crook of her neck, saying, "I will not cry anymore." Don't worry"
"Good girl," Amy says while patting her back. "Wanna play something?" she asks after a pause.
"Nope, I want to sleep right now," Isabella whines.
"Okay, okay, we will; the whole ride must be tiring for you." Amy retorts.
"Yeah, it was," Isabella says as she plops on her bed.
"Hey!" Amy whines.
"What?" Isabella asks, confused.
"You came about an year properly. "Although you had holidays, you did not get a proper rest."
"So?"
"So what I want to say is that we will sleep together till your holidays."
Isabella chuckles at Amy's whining tone as she replies smiling, "Oh, so you want to stay close to me?"
"Yeah! got any problems?" Amy fires back in an attempt to hide her blush.
"Nope," Isabella grins.
"Then move over," Amy chuckles.
Isabella opens her arms, calling "Here," as Amy crashes into her arms. Both giggled merrily, and within no time they were hugging each other tightly.
Once their snores echoed in the room, the door opened, revealing a teary-eyed Theodore. He softly enters the room, observing his daughter's sleeping state. He has overheard all the conversation you two had. Patting both of his daughters' heads, he kissed them gently. While sitting in front of his daughters, he mumbles, "I am sorry, my angels." I turned out to be a bad father. "I couldn't give you proper love and care."
He unknowingly sniffled, causing tears to fall on Amy's hand as she jerked up in her sleep. Theodore was so lost in his daughter's thoughts that he didn't even notice Amy had woken up and was listening to him. Amy's shuffling caused Isabella to move too. Hearing muffled cries in her sleep, Isabella unconsciously mutters, "Father..."
She slowly opens her eyes, as now Theodore is out of his trance too. He was still busy admiring his daughters. "You two woke up," he says weakly.
"Father, don't cry," both of them mutter.
Theodore wipes his tears as he proceeds to hug them close. "Okay."
"Promise?" the two ask as their guardian smiles at them.
"Promise," Theodore declares as the two beam in joy.
"Okay, stay here today then," Amy demands.
He was about to say something when Isabella spoke, "Yes, Father, let's sleep here today."
"Okay..." he mumbles softly.
"Yayyy" the two chirps as the instantly makes space between them for their father. Laying down, he asks, "Wanna hear a story?"
"Yes!" both girls giggled immediately.
Theodore pats their heads while telling them a story. Within twenty minutes, the duo slept in his arms. He smiled at them before kissing their temples and lifting them to his own dreamland too.
