"Who?"
A startled cry. The patrolling soldiers instantly reacted with weapons ready, as though facing a formidable foe.
After a brief moment, but with no detection of movement, the mustachioed captain snappped, "Klair, what's all this racket about?"
"Don't you know, shouting loudly out of the blue in the middle of the night could scare someone to death?"
Reprimanded, Klair defended herself with a look of hurt, "Captain, I'm not shouting for nothing. I clearly saw two figures pass by, and then suddenly disappear from view!"
Hearing this explanation, the mustachioed captain's face changed. In the ordinary world one might suspect a mistake. But in the Extraordinary World, it was quite possible for figures to flit by.
Either it was the enemy's master passing by or it was a real ghost. No matter what the situation was, both could pose a deadly threat to this small patrol squad.
"Don't let your minds wander, continue patrolling!"
