By this point in the war, the Moxi people had suffered massive casualties - if not a million, then certainly seven to eight hundred thousand.

The loss of a large number of able-bodied men would inevitably have a serious impact on the recruiting process. In order to fulfil basic manpower requirements, it wouldn't be unusual to forcibly enlist anyone of age, with or without training.

These soldiers were conscripted against their will, without adequate military training. Morale and fighting ability were not to be relied upon.

Thankfully, their enemy were the Orcs, not a civil war within the Human Race. Otherwise, such a force would have defaulted into a hopeless give-up mode as soon as they reached the battlefield.

Taking into account the real situation of the army, Hudson decisively decided that the future strategy for the Infantry Legion would be - to "build strong fortifications and play it safe".
