All the Northern Nobles present didn't protest. This is the treatment a strongman deserves. If you want to fight for it, you better have strong fists.

Though he didn't believe anyone would be idiotic enough to try and rob their company, which was anointed by the king, they still needed to be prepared.
If it wasn't for the sake of his comrades, Hudson would have simply sidestepped the fight. It wasn't about being cowardly, but being cautious while away from home- less is more.
Being nosy will only invite trouble. Take this instance, for example, a brawl was happening in the distance. Before Hudson made a decision whether or not to get involved, a Noble took a step forward:
"That's the banner of the Rainbow Moon. Someone is robbing the Singing Maiden Group!"
Upon hearing this news, the nobles who were originally only there to watch the spectacle instantly became excited.
