A pair of boots trampled on the Worm Nest's ground, beside a middle-aged noble who was already on his last breath.
"Life's pretty tough."
The condescending voice made the blond man couldn't help but feel a bit amused.
In the past, it was always he who looked down upon others as he spoke, and even though he didn't actually step on them, given how they bowed and trembled before him, perhaps they would actually feel more at ease if he did step on them.
Pat held this thought as he slowly opened his eyes and looked at the calm-faced Ian.
He clicked his tongue and then said, "Can we reconcile?"
"Of course not," Ian raised an eyebrow; he had actually become interested in Pat at this last moment—the sense of humor was enough for him to consider the man interesting: "You're quite optimistic and humorous to be able to say such a thing."
"Really an interesting person, and definitely fun to be friends with."
