Viscount Pompey bid farewell to a few "friends" from the circle of nobility.
He returned to the villa's first-floor hall, sat on the sofa, and showed a hint of fatigue on his face.
Rebecca came to her father's side, took his arm, and whispered,
"Dad, are we really moving away?"
The Viscount smiled gently and turned to look at his daughter.
"Oh no, we're not moving... Let those people fuss about it, they're just a bunch of cowards scared out of their wits. We've lived in Amber City for decades, and we're used to it."
Lady Pompey took a warm towel from a maid at that moment, slowly walked behind the sofa, and gently wiped her husband's cheeks.
"Thank you."
The Viscount reclined comfortably on the sofa, glanced at his wife, and smiled.
Lady Pompey responded with a smile.
"I wonder how Mr. Jack is doing now..."
Rebecca pouted and gently touched the silver snake earring on her ear.
