Chen Lun was deep in thought.
A fashionably dressed lady slowly strolled up to his side.
"Sir, I seem to have drunk too much and feel a bit weak... Could you help me light my cigarette?"
The lady's rosy lips held a slender cigarette, and she handed Chen Lun an ornately carved brass lighter.
Chen Lun took a moment to size her up, beneath her feathered wide-brimmed hat was a pretty face, cheeks flushed, clearly from recent drinking.
He suddenly realized, the woman was making a pass at him.
"Smoking is harmful to health, miss."
Chen Lun did not take the lighter, but just chuckled lightly.
"But smoking can also relieve worries, can't it?"
The lady did not insist further and tried to light the lighter herself, but failed several times. The one successful attempt was snuffed out by the sea breeze.
She cursed softly out of annoyance, then glanced at Chen Lun again, and smiled, taking the cigarette from her mouth.
"Hmm, you're right, smoking is harmful to health."
