Chereads / Kingdoms of Dust: Rebuilding The Nation / Chapter 63 - Infinite Layers

Chapter 63 - Infinite Layers

Arthur burst open the castle's back door, and Shin saw it happen in front of his eyes, but he was powerless and still lay on the floor with no power in his body.

"I need to get up!!"

He was shouting thoughts to push himself to pick up the bottle of antidote of the Paralyzing poison Arthur gave him. It was beside him, but he could not bring enough strength to his arms to pick up the bottle.

"Sir! Are you ok?"

The messenger finally arrived and was surprised to see Shin in such a position; he rushed to his body, covered with blood, and the whole floor was filled with brutally cut soldiers' bodies.

"Are you ok?!"

"Bring me the bottle."

the soldier held Shin in his arms, and Shin used his strength to whisper the massager to get him the bottle.

"This bottle?"

The soldier immediately got the bottle opened it and made Shin drink it. The antidote's effects were swift; Shin could move his arms and lips in a few seconds.

"What is the Status of the Gate? The explosive flare was fired by an infiltrator from here."

"The gate's locking contraption is not working it is already opened by a margin, and many soldiers and citizens are already thinking we have surrendered because of the green smoke."

"The state of the attacks seems to be very problematic, we need to get everything in order. Call all the soldiers and citizens who were extinguishing fires, and announce that we are not surrendering. We will put up this final front."

"I'll do as ordered."

"Also, tell everybody that the queen herself with the soldier of her support is fighting the Asphodel's reinforcements at the port of Trafalgar, she is fighting with everything she had for us. So, we should so die for her."

The messager exited the room and told his fellow messengers the news,

The messenger all went their way into different parts of the town,

Some went to the soldier who had given up, some went to the despairing citizens who had up on fighting, and some to the captain of the soldier to inform everybody,

"The battle is not over yet. There is still hope, we shall fight till our last breath."

The final boost had filled some with excellent morale, and the fight for the castle of about to begin.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Asphodel forces moved from outside the castle to the back gate of the castle, knowing it was their final encounter with the enemy.

It is do or die for each side. The one who will do will decide the fate of the war between the two kingdoms. The army marched on foot with its captain in the front, having a strategic discussion about the condition of the insides.

"The fort had removed all archers; it seems they have consolidated all of the forces. It seems they will be going all out on the defense."

"Yes, but the burning of the capital and the attack by Quince will give them a bigger burden to bear. We will win even if we lose commander will arrive the reinforcements."

"Don't think like this. We are the ones who are going to get our names in the history books for our victory in the castle of Lynx. Have no doubt in your mind."

The captains moved and motivated each other about their victory, but they had no fear in their minds, it wasn't a do or die for them.

They would push their hardest, but subconsciously, they knew they had the advantage of their commander bringing their reinforcements, but it was all about to change.

".Huh..."

A small piece of paper fell from the sky. Seeing the paper, the captain looked up at the sky, seeing it all white,

"It's raining papers!"

Hundreds of paper from the sky blowing with the wind fell upon the Asphodel army,

Levi quickly caught one of the papers in his hand and read the contents and was horrified,

"Damn it!!! We need to move back now. Turn and move towards the port."

Seeing Levi panicking, Vincent questioned his sudden decision. What was on't the paper that made him say that?

"What are you doing Levi? What is written on the paper?"

"Read it yourself, goddamn it that bastard!"

Vincent caught a piece of falling paper and read it to himself,

"The port is a trap."

The four words written on the paper were strong enough to send chills down their spine. Yuuka had fallen into a trap, the details of the trap were still vague, but now the troops were more worried.

"What does "a trap" mean? It is so vague. What is the trap? and what kind of Trap?"

"It doesn't matter now; all we know is that. The port is the place where our soldiers will land and where the commander has gone. If their is a trap then both of them are in danger."

It was as simple as that if Yuuka were to die, it was a loss unacceptable to anyone in the Asphodel force. Yuuka's worth was higher than the victory of the castle to his men.

Rain was coming any second and the Asphodel forces had decided to move to rescue their commander, something no logical person would do but it was never about logic.

Yuuka never followed logic, and neither did his men.
