Chapter 96 - A Visit to the Past.

"What is your history with those assassins? They seem to have Bad blood with you. What even are the assassins, anyway?"

Edward didn't want to answer him but he something in his heart told him to continue and he spoke about his past.

"It'll be short and vague, Ok. Don't expect much detail anyway."

So, Edward began his explanation of the assassin's history.

"The assassins were born of conflict. They don't have a proper place of origin or starting point, all is known is that they were people who killed to end conflicts and solve problems-"

"-They seemed to have spread around the world with different ideas, an organization that did not coordinate with its members. Slowly but surely it reached here."

Edward stopped speaking and let out a sigh before continuing.

"The system was established in the north of the city of Saxony named Aldreal. It recruited members building slowly throughout the years and had a bit of connection with the royalty. Their members only grew after the revolution."

"The assassin's 'creed' had its members trained people of any age but not kids below 4."

"And the Upper limit?"

"There was none, if you were 70 and came there to learn something they would teach you how to get the maximum number of people in a suicide explosion. 'Everything and everyone can do something once they have enough courage' this could be their principle."

"That's ..."

"I don't think it's horrible if you want something with a 70-year-old body either teach the young men something or die while doing something that helps your comrades."

"..."

Lucius was convinced that Edward still had his roots fixed there and hadn't left that mindset completely.

"Moving forward, The Creed was let by an elder, one who took education from the first assassin of this land. That 'first' only taught that elder for the entirety of his life and gave the task of spreading the creed."

"That a bad idea considering the 'elder' decided not to spread the 'creed.'"

"That's impossible, we assassin had been taught to complete our objective, the way it is possible ethical or unethical. The objective to call me out and bring the other assassins was completed at the sacrifice of a whole village. and that elder was taught Knowledge his whole life, those moral are ingrained in his head but as Generations change the idea of morals changed too."

"The Creed did a job to protect the code of stability in its functioning area. We call it the 'Motherland'. A child will do anything to protect his mother, wouldn't he? That's how it is."

Edward had told much information about his creed to Lucius.

He had many questions that had aren't answered or information which felt inconsistent but he had one most important question he need an answer to-

"- What is your history with them?"

"Mine..."

Edward took another short break and began speaking again.

"I was born in an orphanage or so I was told, I was told that my parent died in the civil war -"

Edward's eyes became narrow looking like a glare and he turned his lip corners, displaying his anger about the words

"...."

"-I had a simple upbringing till the age of 4."

"What changed after you turned four years old?"

"I was given my first books and knife, also I met the elder for the first time. He was a man with white hair even then but he had a solid body structure and his eyes weren't wrinkled, he was quite tall and all."

Edward went into further detail He gave him lectures and always motivated him to do things he wanted, he taught him a principle that kids can do anything until they are told they cannot.

"Even while learning knife fighting, gaining acrobatic skills, sneaking by from people anything. He said I couldn't do it every time I failed. So, by the time I became better at my stuff he told me more and more about the assassins. I was a fully fletched assassin at the age of Fifteen."

"Fifteen that's impressive, you must have been one of the youngest ones there."

"No, I wasn't there some who became at age 14 or some even at 12."

"Those people would have been a nightmare to fight against."

Edward ignored Luicus's comment and talked further.

"So, The war was still going on and the tide was turning to the Rebel's favour, so many aristocracies joined on the other in the rebel side, and so did we but he had done it many years ago."

The event of 11 September, many years ago was a remarkable day in the civil war, at that day 107 aristocratic families joined in on the rebel's side of the war.

"Eventually, we were contracted by them to protect them from different attacks, in one of those-"

Edward had a smile on his face.

"Was when I first saw her face, the woman who would be my only true love."
