Chereads / Dr Blush (Dragon Ball Fanfic) / Chapter 71 - Blush’s Response

Chapter 71 - Blush’s Response

Blush finally arrived to meet up with the group and greeted everyone before joining them on their journey with Coral by her side but things soon began to look bad for them.

A large group of people had appeared in all shapes and sizes as they all suddenly appeared within her small range of detection.

It was very clear that they had bad intentions when they were circling around in the woods to cut off her group.

After investigating further, Blush noticed that they were well armed and were prepared for combat.

There was something strange and familiar about some of them which made her gaze become serious.

She turned to Coral and said. "You should set up camp over there for now and do not let down your guard. I will be gone for a little while."

If her estimations were correct then those that were attacking would be much too strong to take down or fend off for long before those with her would be defeated or even killed.

Compared to humans, demons had stronger bodies and many possessed some kind of ability or magic to assist them in some way.

If she had recognised correctly then it was unwise to confront them but her group could not just run away either.

Blush knew of the capabilities of a lot of them and knew that there was only valid option available to have a possibility of reducing the lives lost.

Coral frowned. "I thought I had to protect you? You cannot go on your own."

Blush sighed as she explained. "You do not need to worry. I will be careful."

Just as the group started to move as she had intended, Blush ran as fast as she could further up the road.

It was like she had picked up on the danger and had suddenly left others behind like she did not care about them.

That was how it was viewed by those that could detect her movements.

The old demon coldly stared towards the handsome demon. "Deploy the troops and hunt her down."

The handsome demon bowed. "Of course."

There were a couple of stronger looking demons that were faster and started chasing while the old demon followed behind at a slower pace.

Some of the same members of the families bloodline were a little faster but they still ended up further behind.

Blush stepped off the main path and ran among the trees where she had more shade then took out some more incense burners and traps which were placed behind where she had ran. "Hah.. hah.."

She may have had a strong physique that came from a good training plan and sticking to it but she could not compare to demons that may have lived more than one hundred years.

It made her exert more energy to increase her running speed and lessened the time when she could stop to take a breath or take a break to do something else.

What had been dropped within the long grass were incense burners that released sleeping or paralysis type poisons to the surroundings so those behind would get caught up in it.

Other things dropped were already set animal traps like a bear trap which would be triggered if stepped on.

The lethality of one of them and the materials used to make them would take the foot of anyone careless enough to step on them.

In order to not waste her power further, Blush removed her disguise and her true form was shown as she ran through the forest.

Further behind her, the appearances of each of those that chased her were no longer disguised and the continued their chase.

There was a sudden snapping noise which was followed by a scream of pain. "Argh! Aaah! My leg! My leg!"

One demon went to investigate the source of the noise then stepped on something.

Snap! "Aaaaaah! Argh! Aaaah!"

Just like the other demon that was a part of his group, a part of their leg had been removed from above the ankle.

Another demon knit his brows and yelled. "Be careful of your footing! I think we should wait for one of the masters to catch up."

A more agile but strong demon frowned. "I will go back and bring one here."

It was clear that they did not wish to suffer anymore losses and that they had learned from their mistake.

It was very wrong for the strong but less aware of their surroundings to run ahead when they were not fully aware of what their opponent was capable of.

One of the children made by the handsome demon was brought over quickly on the back of the agile demon. "Oh? It is good that you brought me. This could have been a problem for you all."

His eyes glowed a bright red colour as he seemed to carefully examine the surroundings.

The slight fluctuations of power he released had lifted the ends or lighter parts of his hair a little. "Do not stand there.. there or there.."

His gaze became serious as he continued. "Keep following my directions and hold your breath while I deal with this."

He concentrated as he was led further in by the stronger warriors of the family then more power was released from within him.

The ends of his hair lifted up even more than before once he lifted his hand towards the cloud of poison that spread out.

His gaze become more focussed as the cloud was held back to protect those around him then was pushed back towards the incense burner. "Quickly place that in something or throw it away."

The larger demon nodded and followed his instructions. "Got it!"

They continued to face several obstructions until the handsome demon and the other children of him arrived.

The handsome demon scanned the area and frowned. "She is a tricky child to deal with but this is to be expected.. she cannot run around forever."

He did not notice right away since Blush had already escaped their range of detection but Blush had already appeared in another location all of a sudden.

A pink bird flew high up in the sky and then flew downward quickly before landing near a couple of elite demons of the family who guarded the head of the family. "Hello grandfather."

Her appearance was very sudden and it took the old man by surprise to see her come to him first.

He did not expect her to fly above so his range of detection was spread out mostly around the forest to a certain height that covered the trees.

If there were any signs of life on the branches then he would notice but he would never notice such a quick approach.

The old demon frowned upon seeing her drop down so quickly and transform back into her original form. "So much effort has been expended to track you down child. Give back what you have taken then I might make your death less painful."

Energy started to surround his body as he prepared to use his psychic powers and dark energy to cast some spells.

A barrier appeared in front of him and he ordered his elite guards. "Capture her. If she resists then I do not mind having a couple of limbs removed. If she possesses any kind of talents like those of our family then I will need to assist you and break down her protection."

The elite guards nodded and brandished their weapons as they waited for the response of Blush and the signal to fight. "Yes!"

There were five among them and then there was the old demon who were about to face off against Blush but she did not seem too worried.

Blush had a serious face as she stated. "I underestimated you. No.. I underestimated you all. To think that I would be found this quickly."

Blush had come to understand that her understanding of the supernatural world could not be judged by normal means.

There were many things beyond the normal ways of doing things, the rules and what was actually possible.

Her appearance was serious as the energies around her had gathered to form a shield made from psychic and magic power while the ends of her hair floated up a little.

The moment that she had landed, a shield had been raised which was why the old demon was so focussed towards tearing it down.

He had recognised the technique and it was a kind of psychic magic barrier that protected from physical and mental harm.

The technique belonged to the techniques listed in the families records and he had learned the same.

He grit his teeth and said. "You may have learned a little of our families techniques but you are unworthy to use my families techniques. You have underestimated me and what my family is capable of doing as you have said. This will be your end."

Just as the elite guards charged towards Blush, the old demon prepared his energy to prepare an attack once Blush became distracted by those attacking her.

Psychics and mages require a higher level of concentration and if that slips during combat, it was easier for others to exploit those openings and disrupt those spells or break through the weak points in a protection spell.

If he could not break past the physical defences then he could go for the mental route to disrupt her to allow the others to take advantage of a given opportunity.

Blades clashed against the psychic magic shield that surrounded Blush and she indifferently looked towards the old demon. "I did underestimate you all but I only underestimated you being unable to track me down so soon. Do you not still feel pain? The pain left behind from what I did to each of your bodies?"

Her gaze became chilling as she pointed her hand towards a demon in front of her then spoke. "I always wanted to try this…"

Magic power gathered on her hand as she spoke. "Kill em."

Her hand pointed towards another. "Kill em."

"Kill em."

"Kill em."

"Kill em. Kill em. Release."

Each time that she spoke, Blush stepped closer to each of them and reached out towards their chest.

They stood on the spot and suddenly coughed up blood with a look of disbelief on their faces.

Among those that had coughed up blood, their blood seemed to take on some different appearances.

Some had blackened to show clear signs of poisons while the blood of the old demon had caused the areas it touched to become enflamed.

"Cough!"

"Cough cough!"

"Urkhurk!"

"Hukhukhuk!"

Blush examined their state and continued. "If you stayed away from me and were not so eager to catch me then I would not have had to resort to this. You could have lived on if you could just not pursued me like this."

As she was speaking, each of them held their hands clutching towards the location of their heart while another was to their throat.

They continued to cough and wheeze before weakly falling to the ground.
