Seeing the beasts from afar, a lot of them began to fell on the traps and the rest that were left headed directly toward Yun Chen and the others. Using his speed, Ling Yang was charged to only wound the beasts that were surrounding them since even a little wound was enough to poison them to death. After seeing the rapid effect of this poison, he was very terrified. Xuan Yuan was in charge of slowing down the beast by tying them with tree root because she possesses a wood element spirit root while Xuan Bu was protecting her. Yun Chen slayed all the beast that came his was without exception. Muyun was on the look out to reduce the number of beast and to avoid for everyone to be sneak attacked by a beast. This operation took an hour and a half before the beast tide stopped. They decided to take a break to sort out the corpses. All the corpses were first processed by Yun Chen in order to remove their poison and retrieve the spirit roots. For this round, there were at least three hundred corpses. Yun Chen scouted the area of three hundred miles to collect all the precious spirit herb abandoned by the spirit beast that were guarding it.
They headed for another location and repeated the same operation once a day for five days straight until they arrived at the territory border of that dragon-type innate realm demon beast they were supposed to kill from the start. The beast in question was the one-horned black wyvern at the sixth level of innate realm but its real strength can match a seventh level one. It has an overdeveloped sense of smell. So, when someone dare to violate its territory, they can't escape from him.
«We have arrived! This is the border territory of the one-horned black wyvern. If we go any further, it will take us as its pray. » Yun Chen warned the other.
«Don't worry, young master Yun! We will definitely kill it. » the leader replied.
After that, everyone rushed forward and after some time they heard the roar of that beast. That wyvern was flying toward them and when he was above them it used its fire breath to burn everyone to ash. But Xuan Bu created a dome made of earth to protect everyone while Muyun shot some arrows connected to trees by using spider silk. That silk can't be burn down easily and it is resistant to ice and acid. Now that the wyvern was tied, it lost its flying advantage. It is now forced to fight on the ground. The wyvern was angered and wanted to free itself. It tried to burn the silk, but its fire wasn't powerful enough to leave a scratch on it. Now, it was Yun Chen's and Ling Yang's turn to act using their speed to inflict some wounds on the wyvern with their poisoned daggers while Xuan Yuan would be distracting it using vines and tree roots. The wyvern defense was astonishing but after half an hour, it began to be tired. At that moment, Yun Chen took this occasion to pierce its eyes with its daggers. When one of its eyes was pierced, the wyvern instinctively used its claw and slashed at Yun Chen. Yun Chen used its arm to block it but was wounded and thrown a little far away.
«Young master Yun! / Mr. Yun! » the others cried together after seeing this scene.
Yun Chen was not gravely injured. So, he was still conscious.
«Don't worry about me! It is just a flesh wound. You must stall it. It will die soon since I poisoned it. » Yun cried out in order for them to not be distracted.
After another half an hour of struggle, the beast finally died due to the poison. They all rushed to see Yun Chen's state.
«How are you, young master Yun? » asked the leader.
«Don't worry! It is not a big deal. But we will have to camp here for about three days in order for me to heal! » Yun Chen said with a smile.
«Xuan Yuan can heal you, and it will be faster. » the leader said.
«No! You must preserve your energy since you will be travelling to your hometown after this. » Yun Chen replied to them.
«Alright! » answered the leader Xuan Bu.
After scouting the area, they found a safe cave to rest. The reason why Yun Chen wanted to stay for a few days wasn't to heal himself but to craft his new weapons.
During the night, Yun Chen took out a large stone as long as an arm and as large as five feet. It was a stone mould, engraved with the shape of two twin daggers symmetrically. This shape was a perfect creation of Yun Chen himself drawing on all his experience in crafting and fighting. He also took out his two daggers, four primordial spirit stones, two claws of a two-horned red mantis, two emperor's essence crystal, four soul devouring jade, two dark water stones, two blood-sucking leaf, two hexa-elemental seeds and two bottles of blood essences from a nine-headed hydra.
«I will begin with the meridian veins. » declared Yun Chen.
Yun Chen took the two claws of the two-horned red mantis and painstakingly sliced it using his dagger in order to extract the meridian veins without damaging them. He then used his fire and soul power to refine the two meridian veins at the same time eliminating all their impurities. After that, Yun Chen took the two hexa-elemental seeds and linked each one of them to a meridian vein during the refining. He then melted two primordial spirit stones separately and fused each one with a bottle of blood essences from a nine-headed hydra. After refining the two mixtures, he wrapped them around each meridian vein connected to an hexa-elemental seed and refined them for three hours. The veins slowly absorbed that mixture and were reinforced.
Yun Chen put each vein in an engraved dagger shape on the stone mould and put it aside. He took the two emperor's essence crystal, four soul devouring jades, two dark water stones, two blood-sucking leaf, two primordial spirit stones and his two daggers, melted them separately using his soul power and the fire, fused them and refined it for about ten hours.
During that time the mercenaries were patrolling and didn't dare to question or interrupt Yun Chen. They would kill any beast that approached the cave.
After ten hours of refining, Yun Chen finally took out the main ingredient from his space-ring: the true dragon scales. He tried to melt it separately from the previous mixture, but it took him the rest of the day and an entire night to melt it completely.
If Yun Chen still possessed his fire ranked third on the sky fire list, it wouldn't have taken him even half an hour to melt those scales.
After melting the scales, he fused it with the previous mixture and some of his own blood essence. He refined it for about an hour before separating it into two identical mixtures. He filled the two engraved dagger shapes with the mixture, and it entirely covered the meridian veins that were inside the stone mould. Then he extracted two soul wisps from his soul, put it inside each dagger engravement with an entire bottle of soul essence for each and closed the stone mould. Yun Chen was now at the last step. He put fire on the stone mould and began meditating. This step was about the merging of the soul wisp and the weapon through the soul essence so that the weapons can't be used by anyone other than him. The weapons will only recognize him by the soul connection.
When the sun was at its highest, the stone mould emitted a powerful pressure. Even the mercenaries couldn't stand still under that pressure. Yun Chen finally opened his eyes.
«It seems that the refining is a success! » said Yun Chen with a relieved smile.
After some time, the pressure gradually decreased, and the mercenaries rushed inside the cave to see what was going.
«What just happened, young master Yun? » asked the worried leader.
«Don't worry! It is something that can happen when dealing with some part of a dragon-type corpse. » replied Yun Chen with an embarrassed face.
«I wanted to ask! Are you in a hurry to go back to your city? » Yun Chen asked.
«Non! We didn't say when we would return. » answered the leader Xuan Bu.
«Then, are you ready for another deal with me? » Yun Chen cunningly asked them.
«Hehe! If there are benefits, you can count us in! » replied the leader with a greedy face.
