In a dark hall, within a massive fortress upon a planet covered in perpetual darkness and swirling storm clouds. There sat, upon a throne of black metal, a being out of nightmare. Long, pale skinned hands tipped with long claw like blades. Eyes of burning crimson set above a face of pearl white skin, framed in straight, long, black hair with blood red lips. The creature sat alone in the room, no sound in the surroundings. Suddenly the being stirred.
"Ahhh... yessss..... a new world will be brought into the fold of the universe soon... we musst prepare..." A sighing voice sounded from the being as one long claw was drawn between the lips and across the tip of a thin, forked tongue. "Now will thiss new speciess be able to evolve fasst enough? That iss the quesstion, no?" The voice quickly gained a hissing sound as it became used to speech after so long being dormant.
It didn't appear to be speaking to anyone in particular but a low voice was heard in the room, the source indiscernible. "Yes, my liege, our scouts are already in position for the event. Very soon, the beings of this Earth will be notified by the System of their integration."
"Good, very good. We musst find ssome new blood for the clan. Our decline will ssoon end with thesse new beingss, yess." The being on the throne sighed out in delight, their eyes flashing with a dark glint. "Make offerss to the mosst talented oness firsst. Move quickly." There was no response this time, the hall suddenly grew cold and, somehow, even darker for a moment before returning to normal.

Across the universe, on a small planet called Earth, a lone man sat in his home. The man was a loner by nature, most of his family had passed when he was younger, his only remaining family being an aunt that lived rather close to his current residence. He looked at his television, depicting the mass storms and other natural disasters that had been plaguing the world for the past few years non-stop. Scientists were baffled and many ecologists blamed global warning, but all of them agreed on one thing. A big change was coming soon, what that change would be they did not know. But it would be cataclysmic and they did not have high hopes for many of the people of earth surviving.
