Cleon's body started to get wet from the splashes of water he brought from the river, as well as his face which was full of sweat. He seemed to be getting tired as seen from his slowing movement. But he was still trying to fill the big barrel full.
Little by little the cask started to fill up to half, Cleon started estimating how much more water he would have to take until the vat was full. It made him even more excited when he predicted that it would be soon. Ava and Grandpa just sat watching Cleon, he also prepared a drink for Cleon when he had to rest.
"Two more times this barrel will be full," Cleon muttered as he poured out the small barrel he was carrying.
He immediately ran to the river to get water back, he was even more excited when he saw the big barrel was about to be full. He immediately filled the two barrels he was carrying and immediately ran upstairs. Arriving at the large barrel, Cleon immediately poured two of his own. But he suddenly felt something strange, why the amount of water did not increase. In his estimation, he only needed two more times and now that he had brought the first one, he should have needed one more time.
Cleon stopped for a moment and looked at the big barrel carefully, from the beginning he just filled the barrel continuously but didn't pay attention to the big barrel. He just realized that the back of the barrel had a hole, and that there was a pipe connected to the big barrel.
"Damn it, looks like Grandpa was playing a prank on me," Calvin muttered as he saw the hole and pipe leading to the lower fields.
"So you're awake? Hahahaha.." Grandpa asked while walking towards Calvin.
Cleon was a little surprised by Grandpa who suddenly seemed to be a jovial person.
"Okay, you can stop. Now rest for a while, Ava has made a drink for you. Your stamina will recover after drinking the drink made by Ava," Grandpa said.
"Okay Grandpa."
Cleon walked over to Ava, he immediately grabbed a glass of drink that was offered by Ava. Then he sat down and leaned back in a relaxed manner, Ava looked at him with some pity, but this practice was the best thing. However, Cleon looks so enthusiastic about this exercise.
Break time is over, Cleon looks so excited to go to the next stage. Grandpa also saw that Cleon was ready.
"So what's next?" Cleon asked excitedly.
"You see that hill back there? I have prepared a cloth with a special motif on one of the trees at the top, go and get the cloth. Don't ever come back if you haven't found the cloth," Grandpa said while showing the hill behind his house.
"Okay grandpa, I understand."
"Remember Cleon, the hill is part of the eastern forest, there will be many dangers to come. It's also possible that you can meet demon beasts there. Nothing guarantees your survival except your own strength."
"This time there are no tricks from Grandpa right?" Cleon asked.
"Relax, without any tricks you will also be difficult. Hahaa… pray that you come back alive," Grandpa answered with a big laugh.
"No, I won't die that easily."
"Is that true? I hope so. One more thing, when it starts to get late the danger in the eastern forest will increase many times over."
"It's like a test."
"Sure, this will train your mentality. If you succeed you deserve to have that blue fire. Oh yeah, don't use horses."
"Fine, I'll prove that I'm worthy."
Cleon rushed into the eastern forest by running, this time Cleon was really about to enter real training. The rumors circulating were indeed quite terrifying, the eastern forest was known as the den of demon beasts. Therefore, it is not surprising that there are demon beasts that are close to people's homes. Cleon's father as one of the people who played an important role in guarding the village from the rampage of demon beasts that approached the residential area.
Cleon has now started to enter the eastern forest, he feels that now his body feels lighter when running. It was only then that he realized that his practice of carrying two barrels full of water had a profound effect on him. Because before he ran with a load, when the burden was not there his body immediately felt much lighter.
In the short time that Cleon felt the effects of his training, he quickly ran towards the hill. He had to pass through a fairly dense forest without any clues, the only thing he knew was the direction of the hill. It was getting late, Cleon had calculated that he should be at the top of the hill before nightfall, so that he could find a safe place to rest.
But it turned out to be not that easy, time flies so fast and Cleon's goal is still quite far away. When night falls he can not see the direction clearly.
It was getting dark, this was the first time Cleon was out of the house at night. But in his previous life, for the wandering Cleon it was normal, even though the situation was much different.
"It sucks, this didn't go according to plan. Maybe Grandpa is planning to make me spend the night in this forest," Cleon muttered, stopping his steps to rest.
Cleon looked around, he really felt the silence from the eastern forest. Cleon looked for a suitable place for himself to rest, he did not dare to continue his journey because it was getting dark. He saw a tree that was quite large and shady, he decided to rest under the tree.
"Stone Castle!"
Cleon used simple magic to create a box-shaped shield to protect himself while resting and sleeping. Without thinking Cleon immediately rested.
In an instant Cleon had fallen asleep in his sleep, training since morning had really exhausted him.
But just as he had fallen asleep, he suddenly heard a familiar voice. A groan from a beast was close enough to him, he immediately woke up and looked out through the gap.
"Damn it, why did they notice my existence?" Cleon asked when he saw the swarm of demon beasts that had surrounded him.
He might be safe in the box, but he might not last long. With the power of the demon beast the protection created by Cleon wasn't strong enough.
"Brukkk!!"
One of the demon beasts started to charge, which made Cleon quite surprised. He saw that this type of demon beast was a wolf, but its body size was much larger than any wolf he had ever seen.
