During dinner that night, I told my mom, "Mom, teacher Danzo assigned me to ROOT Anbu Black Ops." After one week I have to report or train."
Mom stopped eating and looked at me. She was surprised and a bit shocked, but she didn't say anything except "Okay, good luck."
Even though she didn't say anything I can understand her fear and anxiety. Since the Anbu will be sent on very dangerous missions and most of the time they will be away from home.
"I will be away from home for two years because of Anbu training. So, I want to spend as much time with you as I can. But don't worry I will meet you as much as possible except for a few certain situations."
She looked at me and smiled a shallow smile. I continued, "Why don't we go for a picnic tomorrow?"
A genuine smile appeared on her face when she heard I wanted to spend some time with her, and she said, "That will be difficult since I just became the orphanage's head." Why don't you help me take care of the orphanage with me if you have free time?"
I smiled and said, "yes, mom with pleasure."
Mom was appointed as the newly appointed orphanage head. Of course not on my recommendation, but the Hokage and elders interviewed mom and then only appointed her as head of the orphanage. Mother is happy that she can take care of the children since most of the time I will be away from her. Despite being possessive of me, she doesn't want to hinder my dream. So, she chooses to keep quiet about her feelings.
The next morning I am standing on top of Hokage Mountain specifically on top of the first Hokage head and enjoying the wind breeze.
"Brother Hirata… come, aunty is calling you."
Hana called me from behind. I looked at her and said, "Ok Hana… I will be there in five minutes, and you won't be late for the academy, OK?"
She smiled and said, "Yes, and don't be late, brother." She waved her hand at me and left. I looked at the back of Hana. She has grown considerably since I first met her around four years ago. She is currently in her final year of the academy, and will soon become a Genin.
I was summoned to the Hokage office early this morning. I went to meet Hokage-sama, but by the time I arrived to meet him, teacher Danzo was already present in the office. Shortly I received an enrollment scroll to join Root Anbu.
I am now on my way to the orphanage to meet my mother and take care of the children along with others. Ahmya, Ichiro, and Riku were playing with Matsuda and Misaki since they were tagging along with mom every day to the orphanage. They were helping her by taking care of the children.
In addition to mom, there were five other employees present. However, taking care of forty or so children between the ages of two and five was difficult for them and made the orphanage understaffed. So, from time to time, volunteers come to help at the orphanage.
Time passed quickly and my break will be over in two days, and my only headache is Tsunade. When she learned I was joining Anbu, she rushed to meet Hokage-sama and requested to join root Anbu. Though Hokage-sama didn't accept it and she went to grandma Mito for help grandma Mito scolded her a lot.
When she tried to join Anbu with me on her first day, she tried every method that she knew, but none of them worked. On the second day, she tried to stop me from joining Anbu and I didn't accept. So she stopped talking to me. On the third day, she chased me and beat me so that I wouldn't be able to join Anbu. Today is the fourth day and I don't know what she will do today.
When I woke up today and walked downstairs, Tsunade was already at the dining table and having breakfast. So, I slowly sat opposite her and carefully observed her. But she continued to smile as if nothing had happened in the past three days.
I looked suspiciously at her and asked, "Are you OK, Tsunade?"
She looked at me with a mouth full of food and smiled at me, after gulping food, "yes, food is tasty. I missed it." and looked at my mother, "aunty seconds please."
Looking at her cheerfulness, I couldn't help but ask, "Tsunade, are you OK?"
She looked at me and smiled and then continued eating. Although she is laughing warmly, I feel cold for some reason. After breakfast, I went to stroll for some time until lunchtime. When I was about to leave, Tsunade came behind me and hugged my neck so tightly I was almost out of breath.
While I am trying to free, "Tsunade lose your hands, you are suffocating me."
She tightened her grip and said, "Nope, I won't unless you accept my condition."
I stopped struggling and said, "Ok, but release me first."
She released her grip while laughing and holding my hand she dragged me along with her. At first, I thought nothing of it, but as time passed by, it became so serious. She started clinging to me and gluing herself to me.
By the end of the day, it became unbearable and I shooed off clinging Tsunade away, "what are you doing Tsunade?"
Tsunade was shocked and awed because this is the first time I have behaved this way since we met. Tears started to roll out of her eyes but she didn't look away instead she looked straight at me.
I calmed down after ten seconds and stood next to her, "sorry Tsunade, we will go home. It's going to be late."
She pushed my hand away and said, "Don't talk to me and we are no longer friends. Shoo… shoo… go away."
I felt helpless; I sighed, "Tsunade, I am confused. I don't know if you are doing this for entertainment or a purpose. If you are thinking about not being able to see me, do not worry. I have my ways. So, let's have a conversation with open hearts okay?"."
Tsunade also became serious after seeing my serious look. Then Tsunade and I had a long conversation for the next ten minutes. After that, Tsunade became calm and silent until we reached home. The next day she came to my home and asked me, "Why don't we go shopping today?"
After seeing Tsunade's seriousness, I agreed to go on a shopping trip with her today. As soon as I finished shopping for Tsunade, I spent the rest of the day with others before leaving for Root Headquarters at night. They specifically mentioned reporting time in the joining letter.
Soon time passed and it's been one week since I became Root Anbu. We were given our unique number, mine is 101318 and we will be identified by this number by our instructors. Since calling an Anbu by its name will give away their information to the enemy. During the training period, we will use a serial number to call each other, and afterward, we will call each other by our Anbu code names during missions.
As per our schedule, the day begins at 4:00 am. For the next two hours, intense workouts will begin. Currently, they are testing our limits and after another week we will have our workout chart. After the workout session ends at 6:00 am, a half-hour break will be provided to freshen up. Another fifteen minutes for breakfast; the food provided is only dry rations for our bodies to adapt to food since during missions we will have to depend on dry rations.
The first class starts at 8:00 a.m. They will teach human anatomy, geography, and crash courses about being an Anbu black ops. In the afternoon another half an hour was given for lunch at 2:00 pm. After lunch until 8:00 pm, various assignments were given to increase stamina and speed. I heard we would only focus on stamina, speed, senses, and strength for the first six months.
Climbing mountains without using chakra will increase stamina and muscle tissue will break and reconstruction through physical exercise will boost stamina, strength, and quick response. To increase speed we have to run a certain distance in a specified time, which is torturous even to us, Chunin.
We will be blindfolded and instructed to dodge rubber balls that the instructor will throw at us to increase our sharpness and senses. For the first three weeks, they will use balls and after that, they will use stones.
After 8:00 pm, fifteen minutes of break for dinner and another fifteen minutes of rest. They conduct a memorizing test for one-and-a-half hours at 8:30 pm. Finally, at 10:00 pm we will enjoy a hot spring bath for one hour and then we can rest until 4:00 in the morning to begin our daily routine. Hot spring water is a special water that has medicinal properties that will heal body fatigue and also boost body regeneration.
The routine is for the first six months. After that they will start ninjutsu, genjutsu, taijutsu, kenjutsu, and finally fuinjutsu training. Though we had to learn all of them at the beginning so we would understand them, this would help us in battle. Within one year, we can adopt whatever winning style suits our winning style. For the second year, we have to produce a passing grade of 85 % to become Root Anbu.
Anbu trainees who failed here were sent to join Anbu Black Ops under Hokage. Teacher Danzo wants only elites among elites under him, that's why failing is allowed here. The selection for Anbu training itself, however, is much stricter. Following training, they were immediately put into the squad for training.
As far as I am aware of Anbu Black Ops or Root Anbu from Naruto, this procedure is quite different. In thinking for the past week, I've identified two reasons; the first is that this world is perhaps different from the Naruto world that I know, if not there is no way I could hear, and the second is the root Anbu or Danzo that I know are supposed to be from around sixty years in the future in the original Naruto world, so teacher Danzo might not fall into darkness and become like Danzo in Naruto or perhaps it isn't yet the right time since Root Anbu black operations started
For now, my goal is to find a way to escape the camp, so that I can meet mom and Tsunade as I promised. Unless I plan, I will not be able to get away from here, so I will scout the entire camp until I gain enough confidence. Following that, I will formulate how to escape without breaking the rules, of course using loopholes.
After one month, the first attempt at the escape plan will begin tonight after everyone falls asleep. I created two clones to scout the surrounding area and sent them opposite each other. Unexpectedly, both clones were dispelled at the same time and a hundred yards into the forest.
After thinking for a few minutes, I can see a clear picture of what happened in the forest. Anbu is constantly monitoring this area and it is almost impossible to escape from there. So, I have to find another way to escape from here.
Each night after midnight, for the next week, I sent around ten clones that were masked from top to bottom to scout. But every time they were killed at a hundred yards.
Since the conventional method is not working, I must think about another way to overcome this obstacle. After thinking for quite some time I came up with another idea and that is, a clone using transformation jutsu, transformed into a bird or an animal or insect. I selected three species that can travel at high speed and have high maneuverability even in narrow places; a snake, a rat, and a pigeon.
First I used three clone pigeons to scout from the sky. Once they fly into the sky at a maximum height they can scout a very long distance. After reaching two kilometers into the sky, they were praised by needles and dispelled into smoke, but their job was done. Now I can pinpoint the direction I have to go, to reach the village.
It seems the training center is in a forest around two kilometers from the village. Now that I have made my way out of here, it seems Hokage-sama and teacher Danzo do not want to punish me for breaking a camp rule, or maybe they were waiting to see if I would escape. Technically I didn't break any rules, since my main body is still on campus, right?
