Chapter 1 - That caged princess

>>> KIMORA POV <<<

In the cold dingy cell, my butt settled on the filthy floors while my back was leaning on the walls. My legs hugged to my chest and my face buried on my knees, with my red swollen eyes closed in silent tears.

My brain was filled with horrific and terrible memories of what occurred yesterday in my kingdom, my home was brutally eradicated.

My parent was gruesomely murdered and so was Meridith, my younger sister who was adopted by my parent at the age of five. My people were taken as petty slaves, and so I was too.

For God's sake, why did this happen to us?

Why were we attacked without a forewarning? What wrong have we done to deserve this?!

It was plausible that my kingdom was a benign one and we all live in harmony, the kingdom of Naturiah is peaceful and we don't look for problems nor do we engage ourselves in bad violations against other kingdoms.

Then, why did King Logan attack us?

King Logan is the emperor of the seven kingdoms, he's well-known to be a powerful man. He's unconquerable and feared too —the six other kingdoms are under his rule, and so was the kingdom of Naturiah too.

How did we offend this man?

How did we arouse his disgruntled wrath upon us?

I'm truly pained, and I'm badly hurt. I presently feel the huge lump of bitterness and anger ravaging my heart, and I can sense my shadow leaving my body for me alone to face my doom.

I'm the royal princess of Naturiah's kingdom but I have failed to protect my people, I am the high chief of the royal guards but I erred to safeguard my kingdom.

"...why did this happen?!" I growl tearfully, my teeth clenched and my muscle tightened. "...I will make him pay for everything, I will!" I whimper, sniffing through my nose as I strive to salvage myself.

I don't have to be weak but I have to be strong, my parents are gone but my people rely on my shoulders for them to survive. They'd lose hope if I relent, and they'd feel shattered if I show my vulnerable side to them.

"Oh, creators!" I grimly muttered.

Abruptly, my ears perk up at the jingling sounds of the cell door and I slowly lifted my head, I saw the four guards in their red armor standing outside the cell.

"Get the slave princess out!" One of the hefty guards steely ordered, he was standing behind the guard who was struggling to unlock the key.

My shoulders dropped and I sharply sniffed, slowly I stood to my feet as I watch the guard open the door and they all stormed into the old cell.

Two of the brawny guards stood dominantly in front of me, while the other two guards stood behind them with their swords.

I simply recoiled in front of them, my expression was blank but my puffy eyes could tell that I have been weeping.

"...oh princess, you shouldn't be crying, huh!" One of the guards ridiculed me, he hysterically chortle as the other joined in making a mockery of me.

My heart throbbed and my head ached as if something was slammed on my skull, my hands cracked as they folded into tight fists. My eyes lowered to the floors, as I wouldn't want them to see my streaming tears.

"...I heard she was a warrior, a strong one at that. I heard she was tough but all I see here is a weak, stray and hopeless warrior princess!" One of the guards behind their superior sneered in disgust, and he let out a loud scoff.

"Take her! The King awaits her presence in his chamber!" The other guard in front of me asserted, and the two guards who stood behind him moved swiftly to me and roughly grabbed my arms.

"Argh!" I let out a groan, they were manhandling me severely as they both pulled me out of the cell.

I was provoked but I maintained my poise, they tried to make me whimper but I bite it back to my throat —I don't want them to see me as someone scared of their hostility, I don't want them to condemn my portrait as a royal guard and princess.

Of course, that would sting my dignity and they would make use of that to bully and make fun of me the more.

"Hmm!" I snorted when one of the guards purposefully yanked my hair, and my eyes squeezed rather in low discomfort.

"Quit hurting her, Asher. She's a princess, have you suddenly forgotten? A princess doesn't like to be touched by petty guards," one of the guards said behind us, and they all roared into a peal of laughter.

We were striding hastily in the long hallway, the hallway was incredibly expansive and towering too. I guess this is the east wing of the gigantic castle, and it's privately occupied by the king himself.

"Hurry up!" The guard who clutched my left arm urged me, and we moved precipitously with my long red shabby gown sweeping the floors.

It took us a few jiffies to get to the king's chambers, I saw two guards who stood at the door with their stone-cold faces.

I gulped drily as we got to the guards who stood at the door, I nervously tremble as we stopped at the golden large door of the king's room.

As if they were expecting us, one of the guards quickly unlocked the door and they forcefully pushed me into the room.

I totter into the room and I mistook a step, causing me to crash down to the hard floors of the room. My black long hair which had a combination of white at the strands flowed down my face.

"Argh!" I let out a yelp.

How rude they are!

Slowly, I raised my head. My ocean blue eyes exploring the silent dimly light golden room, my heart whips against my chest as I gradually struggle to stand on my feet.

Every speck in this golden room was heavenly, it screams of royalty and stateliness. However, in as much the room was noiseless and undisturbed. I could still feel the unsettled, and dark aura roaming around the room.

"FINALLY, THE WALLFLOWER IN MY DOMAIN!" A cold deep voice huskily stated behind me, sending freezing chills down my spine.

My body throbbed intensely, my face filled with pressure as I spun to stand up against the king. But at the instant sight of the powerfully built man in front of me, I also caught sight of someone who I never believe I would ever see again.

"MERIDITH!" I sharply gasped at my younger sister, my round ocean blue eyes enlarged at the unbelievable in front of me.

Meredith giggled slyly at me, she was standing closely behind the herculean king with her arms crossed pridefully on her chest.

"Hi, elder sister!" She mischievously grinned at me, and my heart jerked into my mouth as I shockingly gaped at her.

The hell!!!!
