Ryan parked in front of the NYPD building on Broadway, he walked into the entrance of the brown brick building, there was a large 34th police precinct written on the side of the building. Different types of cars as well police cars painted in blue and white were parked in front of the building.
The agent walked into the building with a rubber bag holding two large burgers and a bottle of orange juice in his hand— which was his breakfast. He marched on boldly into the storey building, "Hey Flinch!" He waved at the security man at the entrance.
"Good morning Ryan!" The man replied.
Then he walked into an elevator which would take him to the third floor.
"Good morning!" Ryan shrugged and greeted the lady in the elevator.
"Hello!" She smiled back. The room went silent as no one uttered a word after that.
"Uhh– " She cleared her throat, Ryan turned in her direction. "You must Ryan Steven!"
"Yeah I am, have we met before?"
"No no, I mean not yet, well we just met, but we're going to meet upstairs, uhh– ", she chatted on nervously and out of point. "I'm saying rubbish aren't I?"
Ryan nodded in response and looked away.
"Hi I'm Ava– Ava Walter!" She extended a hand towards Ryan.
"Ok?" He frowned a little and chuckled, "Nice to meet you Ava", he shook her hand in return.
"I've heard so many nice things about you, you're the best!" Ava continued and smiled nervously.
She was a pretty white lady with an average height, she wore a silver suit and trousers along with black high heeled shoes. Her dark hair was rolled up in a single ponytail. She carried some files in one of her hands and a black little hand bag rested on her shoulders. She stood there smiling brightly; if not too brightly, and chatted nervously in front Ryan; who could only care less about her presence.
"Yeah that's nice, Evelyn", Ryan nodded.
Ding! The elevator had reached it's destination on the third floor and Ryan jumped out the elevator happy to leave the chattering lady behind.
"It's Ava!" She announced, but Ryan didn't care about her words anymore, she could only see his back as he continued to walk away. At once disappointment appeared on her face, her spirits drowned. She could hear the elevator close up but was too deep in thoughts to remember she was supposed to stop on the third floor too.
"No no no no no! Shit, shit! I did it again, Urrgghh!" It had finally dawned on her that the elevator was going down again, she kept tapping on the buttons to stop the elevator but it was of no use, Ava would have to go down with the elevator and go back up with it again!
Ding! The elevator reached the last floor, immediately a swarm of people rushed into the elevator pushing each other, cursing and stepping on each other's feet. Finally they settled in but the room was all cramped up, they squeezed Ava to a corner and she felt as though she couldn't breathe, but she had to endure it— after all it was her fault for trying to impress a guy who wasn't interested her and then forgetting she was supposed to get off the elevator as well.
There she was, pressed to the corner of the elevator like sardines, she sighed.
