After the death of his grandfather Urel went about making a name for himself in the Shadow region of Moore, at the age of eighteen he joined a fight guild well known to all the gangsters in the area to get started with his training. One can ask the question what does joining a fight guild's got to do with training well it's radical for a person, but for Urel it's just another stepping stone to his breakthrough.
This guild specialized in death bouts, the only way someone was able to win is when that person kills another. Urel entered as an apprentice fighter along with others of his youth that were there, some died before they were even ready to compete due to the intense training days.
"Many give up when they feel pain but they don't know that pain is merely a discomfort !"
"Many give up when they feel pain but they don't know that pain is merely a discomfort!"
"Viper your fight is about to begin get ready!"
"What do you think im doing sir Leon?"
"Im more than ready to enter hell itself hahahahahahahahahah!"
As one of the young fighters prepared to enter the arena that was situated deep underground mob bosses, and their members were cheering in anticipation for the match to begin. Urel's first match is today and his chaperone constantly checks up on the other youths injuries before they enter the arena to go fight.
"So how you feeling today viper?"
"Just fine sir Leon."
"I didn't expect you to develop your skills so late though its a pity. You do know that you are the only one among the vipers that didn't fight in a bout yet some are not even vipers anymore they were chosen by mob bosses to be full members of their gang."
"I know..that's why things are going to be interesting sir Leon."
Sir Leon the man that forged Urel and the other vipers into warriors was stunned by Urel's words, because Urel was one of the young vipers who struggled in the training months.
"Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah man you are a real peace of work you know that I mean DO YOU KNOW PEOPLE DIE HERE IN THIS TOURNAMENT YOU BRAT!"
"People die in Moore all the time sir, so its only natural for a person who lives in Moore to be dauntless."
As they were talking to each other a loud shout of praise shaked the arena to conclude the bout between two vipers that fought each other, the announcer had already shouted the champions name and Leon ran quickly to see if Erik won or not and to his surprise Erik walked through the passage way full of blood on his body with scars on him.
"Damn you are something else you know kid, I wonder why they don't pick you."
"What was that? Haha come on sir Leon don't be bored of me just yet, I still need to kill the viper from the east."
"Oh right you think you can take him, come to think of it its actually making sense now."
There was a chilly silence for a brief moment between Leon and Erik the viper
"THE MOB BOSSES ARE GOING TO CHOOSE THE WINNER OF THIS TOURNAMENT."
Usually the vipers would be chosen by the mob bosses based on their skills alone but Erik has never been chosen for the past nine months and he fought eighty nine bouts these past nine months and so far he is UNDEFEATED. Its unbelievable for a twenty year old to have survived the death matches for so long seeing that many of the youth are not even teenagers but young adults that range from twenty to twenty five. Just today he defeated Ryoin the viper who was said to have killed gang members in a bar in Dannir with just a knife four years ago and this tournament was actually his punishment for messing with gang members.
In the short distance along the passage Urel was just standing and looking at them, instinctively Erik noticed him standing there and he turned to look at who was standing, because a person could not see how long the passage was, so you could not tell what was there until you moved along the passage.
When Erik moved forward to see clearly who it was he was shocked to his mind. Erik did not hesitate for even a moment to run forward and as soon as he got to Urel he punched him to the ground and started pounding down at his face with his fists.
"I never thought you would be here!"
"How long has it been since the training days."
"You...better get your off me prick."
"Or what you small fry!?"
Leon steps in by kicking Erik off of Urel and helps Urel up on his feet, Urel and Erik hated each other during the months of training and Urel was the one picked on for his lack of skills and strength but the question is how did he survive the months of hellish training where many vipers died from the regimes?
"Viper don't ever do that to another viper unless its in the arena of bouts you understand? Besides you will get your chance when he rises to the top."
THE NEXT BOUT IS ABOUT TO COMMENCE!
