The boy was lying beneath the enormous tree when he passed out. Hearing the sound, the boy opened his eyes once more a short while later.
'Huh!?'
When he opens his eyes, the monkey is in front of him and is staring directly at the boy's face.
What's going on with him?
The boy said while there was blood on his face.
'Cling'
…!!!
The large tree behind them caught the boy and the monkey's attention. An arm seizing the tree. The leomarch then emerges from behind the tree. The animal regarded the monkey who was standing close to the boy. Monkey glared angrily at the beast as his eyes abruptly turned black and white.
Also gazing at the monkey hiding behind the tree was the beast. The monkey is surrounded by a black aura as their eyes make eye contact.
…!?
After a prolonged period of staring, the beast ultimately made the decision to leave the area.
What sort of circumstance exists? What's up with the monkey and his emanating black aura? The monkey was abnormal from the beginning, but this made him even more enigmatic.
turns a little to the side and directs his ominous gaze at the boy.
Is there a problem with the monkey? Guess it's irrelevant.
The boy pressures his left leg while attempting to stand up.
'…Snap'
'aaaAAAHHHHHHH'
'aahhh, that hurts.'
The boy's left leg broke. He grabs his leg and groans in agony.
'he…hee..heeeee.'
Monkey He extends his hand toward the boy's leg and applies pressure, making the boy's leg "snap."
'AAAAHHHH'
The boy screams much louder than before this time.
'aaahhh…hh…h.'
Oh, the pain in my left is gone! did that monkey actually assist me?
Then, out of nowhere, the monkey takes off.
'huh!? What the heck is up with that monkey?
The youngster sways his leg and beams with delight, but...
"I don't know what I got myself into, but I need to leave here and find out who was responsible for this," said the boy.
The young man starts to move around.
"I am a hunter—not a hero or monster hunter—but I still hunt in my own special way when a weak monster shows up in the course of the hunt." I don't have much fear because I can't physically fight them; instead, I use my brain to trap them.
I still feel scared, and I kind of regret following the monkey, but... Despite the fact that I had the option to flee as soon as I saw the monkey, I chose to bring the danger upon myself.
Now, I am unable to flee or submit. I therefore need assistance to leave this location, even if it means using the Leomarch territory as a line of defence against the monster.
"before that, my body condition is at the worst level, and I don't think I can even take on any monster,"
'…?'
The boy notices a line drawn on the ground when he looks down. "Ignore" the boy as he leaves carelessly. He keeps walking. The dragger in the boy's hand starts to glow repeatedly after a short while.
He keeps returning to the dragger's glowing gaze. He scans the area to see if there is any danger.
As the object approaches from behind, the boy turns around and tries to use the dragger to cut it, but the object avoids the blow and lands on the ground.
'monkey!? Why are you acting as though you want to kill me?
The boy said as soon as he noticed the monkey attempting to harm him.
'..!?'
The bug is suddenly smashed inside the monkey's hands as he turns around while holding it in his hand.
'Smash'
Well, I believed you were attempting to harm me.
The monkey vanishes into thin air once more. On both his left and right sides, the boy scans the area.
It's not like this is his first time running away or disappearing, after all.
The boy starts to walk once more.
Well, it's not like this location is completely secure given the potential for monster sightings. Should I stay away for the time being and return once I've had a chance to recover?
'….No'
"If I run, there is no way I can escape; sooner or later, the outcome will be the same." Do or die from this point on.
'Woosh'
'what was that?!'
A shadow of something running from bush to bush is unidentified. Due to his diminished strength and stamina, as well as injuries, the boy still has a worried expression on his face as he grips the dragger tightly.
Was that a monster? It didn't appear to be that big. It was human size in size! Should I go for the attack first?"
He thought he was about to see the shadow on the object, but he was unable to identify it.
'step…step….step'
He starts to move slowly. The boy approaches the bush slowly.
'…!!'
The boy manages to dodge the arrow as it is being shot straight at his face out of the bush, but as he does so, he drops to the ground.
'Ek…'
The bush starts to move once more, but many other bushes also start to move. The boy stands up and looks around while tightly gripping the dragger.
Suddenly the movement in the bush completely stops
'what?!'
A small ball is thrown at the boy from within the bushes. The boy's leg is struck by the ball.
'a ball?'
He picks up the ball and examines it.
"I believed It was a bomb or smoke."
When he was about to throw the ball back, smoke began to emerge from it, and within a few seconds, the entire area was enveloped in fog.
I am unable to see long distant objects. However, I can see the majority of the objects, including the trees and bushes.
They should probably put more effort into the smoke issue.
The boy notices a person's shadow standing in the bushes.
So he was the one who attacked me,
The boy rushes at the person or monster and attempts to stab him, but the latter retreats into the bushes once more. The entire bush was empty when he stabbed it.
'what?! He was just here a moment ago, so how did he vanish so quickly? He's not like other things.
His eyes roll more quickly as he scans the area. Once more, one of the bushes moves. He moves as quickly as he can to attack before that thing disappears once more.
'ha… got you! huh?! As I reflected, "One thing is not a straightforward target to catch."
That thing vanished again in its entirety. The boy is motionless, standing still. The thing suddenly materialised from behind, but the boy said nothing and made no movement. It appeared from the front again before dissipating into the thin fog, but this time the boy made the decision not to move, which was in some way more advantageous than doing so while the object continued to appear and then disappear into the fog repeatedly.
Finally, the fog dissipated, and along with it, so did that thing. But even after the fog vanished along with that object, the boy remained still and did not move.
That thing was terrifying, I tell you. Haaaaaa…'
The sweating boy stumbles to the ground.
I anticipated being attacked from behind, so when he moved in front of me, it was even scarier. But rather than looking like a monster, it was more human-like.
Well, who cares, I'm saved, and that's what matters most to me at the moment.
The boy was suddenly confronted by a timer. The boy briefly felt frightened.
'ah. That was scary, what's this?'
[zero minutes: ten seconds]
Starting at 10, the countdown begins. The boy was terrified because he had no idea what was going on.
"What time is it? Does it pertain to me? I have no idea why there is a countdown. Remain calm; there is only a timer. When the timer expires, I'll find out.
[nine…eight…seven…six...five…four…three…]
'drop…drop'
The boys were sweating and had a scared, anxious look on their faces.
[two….one….zero]
'…?!'
Nothing has changed, and nothing else has appeared or vanished as he looks around.
"What a relief, I was afraid something bad was going to happen,"
The timer emits a bright light out of nowhere. The boy's hands are over his eyes. He then opens it once more and sees...
