Chapter 9 - The Tree Spirit (Drake's PoV) Part 2

The first time that I had been living with Reina, I was only 9 months old.

An year has passed, I finally taught myself how to speak again, even being a toddler is hard. And yet somehow I felt like I had a chance. Ah yes, I believed that I was hopeful despite being just a 3 tier mystic, which I kept it as a secret from her.

"Drake, mama bought something special for you~" Reina had been forcing me into cross dressing, just this year now.

"But mom..I'm a boy, I ain't wanna wear these girlish clothes" I roared at her, with puffed up cheeks.

"Little boy, just do as I say" Reina said, but within her subtle expression of smile, I felt murderous killing intent. I had no choice but to swallow my pride, sob..

"Aww look at you~" she beamed while taking multiple photos of me, I regret being here, I should've chosen the old man.

"This damn old hag, to her perspective, I guess I'm her cute little princess" I thought to myself, that moment I had been cringing while trying to empathize with her head.

"Now now, let's go outside, there's a couple places you must see, we're gonna travel the world in 6 months" She holds my hand, trying to drag me outside the room.

"No, I'm not going like this" back then I was pretty annoyed at her for making me wear such clothes.

"Eh? but.." Reina was a bit nervous, it's her first time raising a kid.

"No, I don't think I will" I had sassed at her with a smirk.

"*Sob*..I'll change u into your normal clothes, so you better be a good boy okay" she slightly whimpered at me, while this guy, yep that's me, the jerk, stood proudly grinning at her without her knowledge.

And so, I spend my time with her, the first place I went to was a kid's park, in which I didn't show any interest to begin with, but then she took me in a ride on a space shuttle, that could travel around the globe from one place to another, the earth here somehow reminded me of my old world.

Well, it's just the same Earth but a little bigger, except the continents are alot different here, Although I do see alot of similarities with churches and temples from my world, the variables are quite distinct somehow, Days went by travelling around the globe, I had learnt alot of things about this world for now.

There are four major continents, The North and South regions have cold temperatures, the north being extremely colder. Usually anything near the poles, The Eastern and the Western regions have vast differences in culture and religion, and yet they all share most of the languages somehow, their beliefs about the "heavenly gods" are the same, despite having different names.

The oceans are vast but quite less too, they're referred to as the three divine seas.

The Ocean X, which as the name suggests is just an ocean that splits the four continents in an "X" shape, it was stated to be made by a swordsmaster or a martial artist of a high calibre, but it's still unknown to do this day, more likely a farce as well since it's a rumour.

The ocean of pandemonium, which exists behind the usual land mass, it's stated to have mutant sea creatures like mermaids, sea lizards, sea dragons and many more, hence the name pandemonic ocean, purely because of it's chaotic nature, sadly this one used to be called "the Pacific Ocean", how ironic.

And then, the Ocean of absolute frost, used to be the Artic ocean, but now it's known as the "Tomb of Chiyuki-ona" aka Goddess of snow, the harbinger of cold winds, what's even stranger about this place is that it brings cold winter all over the world. The temperature at this place is 10 times below absolute Kelvin.

Although catastrophes could bring extreme winter. "The Fool's winter" and the "Blind winter" which have had happened a few hundred years ago.

The Fool's winter would cause mental distress/illnesses, especially if you're below peak master(below 6th star for mages or below Qi condensation state for aura arts), it's a normal winter but on a global scale with temperature ranging upto zero near equator, celcius scale to minus fifty degrees on south pole, beyond minus 100 to near absolute zero at places near North pole.

The Blind winter would have everlasting nights, with the thickest clouds looming over the skies, all over the world, such clouds are so dense that you wouldn't probably see the sun for the rest of the year, although it'd be cold there would be a rainfall and snowfall but it's not extremely harsh. still eitherway, the north pole remains 10 times cooler than absolute zero regardless of any kind of catastrophe.

There was a recorded scripture of such, a combination of the two winds, even more terrifying than what it could've been, it was known with many names, but notoriously known as the "the abysmal void winds of the North", the winds are so cold that it'd freeze the whole planet. I wonder what'd be happening in the poles at such a hypothetical scenario.

Oh well, thankfully I'm staying on the equator side of the globe so I can't be bothered by some strange cold winds, regardless of the blunder about this world, I really enjoyed the tour I had with Reina.

Often times eating foods that had been reminiscent of the cuisines in my world. After 3 months of journey, it has finally ended, or maybe there was one more place to visit.

"Mom, where are we heading to, isn't this the forest?" I said to her, since I thought that she seemed to be heading to the dangerous place, but at this point of time, Myriad forest of odds was no longer a threat.

"Haven't you heard the news already? some people had run a subjugation when we left for a global tour, they returned alive with more rewards, it's one of the world's biggest adventure guild that tried an excavation, aka the Silver Lion." said Reina.

"So now that it's already done, it's safer?" I asked her with a potato face.

"Yep, and the beast herds had vanished, as soon as the magic protecting them was gone, they had to leave solely because of such a protection or maybe just for dense mana" Reina explained him about the forest, I guess she knew about that time, when I had been secretly learning techniques. I can't hide it anymore.

"Ah that makes sense, Silver Lion does love to monopolize such lands, especially when there's plenty of piled up dead bodies at those quests" I scuffed at them.

"hahaha kiddo you're pretty smart, ofcourse, they're one of the top 10 strongest guilds" Reina chuckled, while carrying me on her shoulders.

"we're here" she puts me down gently, as I look at the tree that I had met from, especially with Reina. The tree was similar to plum blossom, but it looked different, it had been luminous, the leaves and flower petals of pink lights welcomed me, with strange orbs that revolve around the tree, the breeze I felt had a strange sense of familiarity and longing.

"Why are we here again?" I asked Reina.

"She's a tree spirit that had been protecting you, ever since you were left alone here, she had been telepathically sending me messages, it kinda bothered me enough to visit her" she had been shrugging while scratching her head.

"Now go ahead and place your hand over there" before she said this, I slowly moved towards the position, the one where the basket had been staying at, placing my hand with no concern as to what may happen.

"close your eyes, and relax" Reina instructed me.

Slowly I felt the tree's life force coursing through me, and then I looked around only to see the girl who looked like she was in her teens, the dryad looked more human than I could've thought of, she had amber eyes with a brunette hair, with clothes that had been woven from roots, branches and leaves, too perfect and flashy to be considered a dryad cosplay.

The spirit hugged me immediately, but I didn't know why since I was quite confused as well.

"I'm glad you're still safe" she teared up while hugging me.
