I opened my eye to the blurred image of my surroundings, all I could feel was unimaginable weakness and my outlook was not habitual because I felt no sensation of familiarity. I had to flicker my eye for some time to get them adjusted to the light and my unknown vicinity.
While trying to adjust my vision I could hear voices that I assumed to be people within the boundaries of my unknown locality. It appeared to be the voices of two men in a conversation.
" How is she recuperating," said one of the men whose voice was composed but compelling submission.
"Her vital indications appear regular sir". Replied the other man whose voice unlike the first man was strained.
" If that be the case, why then does she remain unconscious".
" We have been trying everything we can sir but she sustained an acute head injury, she must be quite the personality to regardless wrestle for her life".
" I have rendered every implement at your disposal and very proficient medical practitioner at your commission, I do not at the expense of your incompetence intend to consider failure as an answer".
" Please sir give us time ....".
I couldn't hear what other words were exchanged between the two individuals as it appeared that they had left the room or perhaps it was because I was inundated by darkness yet again.
....
I opened my eye again but this time things felt slightly different because when I tried conforming my sight it only took me blinking my eye twice, I noticed that this time I could perceive the smells in the air. I detected the smell of antiseptic and a trace of blood which further convinced me that I was in a hospital.
I was incarcerated by a deluge of headaches and didn't try to move as it would be strenuous on my body which felt almost numb.
Suddenly the door to the room opened to reveal a woman who surfaced to be in her late twenties, she was dressed like a nurse, and when she saw me her facial expression seemed awestruck she gasped with her hands covering her mouth. I wondered what surprised her to such length.
"Hold on I need to get the doctor " she uttered as she dashed out of the room.
Consequently, as she left the room I was committed to examining my vicinage. The room wasn't exactly your regular hospital room, it had well-advanced technology equipment which made me wonder how expensive the room could be. I couldn't properly scrutinize the room as I was lying down my vision was restricted. The bed appeared to have side rails which could be raised or lowered, a mattress base with joint sections to raise the body parts, and a middle that could be jacked by a reel or drive, this made it generally comfortable, regardless though, all I wanted to do was get out of it. I noticed CCTV cameras were installed, I wasn't exactly pleased by it because this could be classified as an invasion of privacy it constituted questions within me. My body throbbed just as much as my head did so I decide to relinquish the idea of studying my surroundings or considering the situation I was in to perhaps curtail the pain.
I closed my eyes to lessen the pain when suddenly the door to the room opened again, I opened my eye and I saw that there were two figures this time. It was the woman from before and this time she came with a man wearing glasses and was slightly chubby and bald, dressed in a doctor's uniform.
" You were right indeed she's awake" he vocalized as he walked toward me. I noticed that his voice sounded familiar, then I remembered the first time I woke up, I concluded he must have been one of the men involved in the dialogue.
" Don't try to move I'll run a general assessment on you". I closed my eye again as my head because heavy and I drifted into sleep.
....
I gently opened my eye once more and this time I noticed the room was a bit different, then I regarded the fact that the room had gotten a lot brighter and the air smelt fresher than it was before.
You are finally awake". Articulated a man I wasn't aware of when he had entered the room or if he was in the room initially before I woke up.
I turned my head in the direction of the voice which appeared to be the location of the door, I saw a tall handsome man dressed in a grey suit, he was seated on a chair with his legs crossed and what appeared to be a newspaper in his hand which now rested on his lap as he looked directly towards me.
" What is your name?" he questioned boldly andabruptly.
I was in shock as it dawned on me that I couldn't remember.
"I ..... I..can't remember" I said as I looked down at my hand while struggling to remember.
" You can't or you don't want to remember".
I didn't understand why he was using a harsh voice on me, I honestly wanted to remember but I couldn't and it put a strain on me.
" I'm trying but I can't".
"Focus and clear your mind, stop combating your emotions, channel your mind and reminisce on every single experience, do not allow fear to be a factor "
As I was lying down I looked up and focus my thoughts but nothing happened.
" It's .....not working".
suddenly without spearing me a second glance or even saying another word he left the room.
Drained because I couldn't remember who I was my mind was in chaos and my body in pain but I still wanted to know who I was subconsciously tears began to stroll down my eye. I cried for a few minutes then stopped because of the throbbing pain in my head which started to hurt a lot.
A week later I found out I had been in a coma for seven years and I had amnesia, I was transferred to a Huge mansion, I and and and and and soon after found out Toogood the good-looking man in the grey suit was the one who paid for my hospital bills. I hadn't seen him since he visited, I felt terrible that I couldn't tell him my name after he had helped me so much, I wished to meet him again, I decided to thank him when next I saw him even though he was harsh towards me.
During the duration of my stay at the hospital, I was well taken care of by the nurses but now that I was at the mansion, I was being cared for by maids working at the mansion and was even assigned a personal maid.
