Jerry the Mouse was hiding under the chair. He peeped to see the Farmer and his wife open a shopping basket. "What sweet food might this basket contain?" He wondered. He was shocked to discover it was a mousetrap. Jerry the Mouse rushed to the farmyard where his friends Cock, Pig and Bull were resting and warned them. "Danger! Danger! There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house,"Jerry the Mouse squealed.

His friends listened carefully and then dismissed the danger as inconsequential. Cock crowed, scratched the soil and then, raised his head.

"Jerry, I know this is of grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be hurt by a mousetrap," Cock said.
