Evergale Online. A VRMMO game created by a company that just appeared one day. The trailers and small clips from the devs made people hype, anticipating for the day it came out. With the graphics looking nothing different from real life and the large amount of gameplay they offered, it seemed like a dream to most gamers.
Not to mention the technology they invented for the game's use. A pair of glasses, that when put on would transfer your consciousness to the game. By those means, you would retain you five senses, along with pain. Luckily, they made a setting to disable it.
It was a true miracle... And I happen to be one of the lucky people to gain it.
The company, EverTrue, only made 50,000,000 whole copies of both the game and glasses. Together both costing shockingly only a thousand dollars. It made people happy, while others cried. Mostly kids.
"So I just put these on and find a comfortable spot?" I took a look at the glasses. They looked like a normal pair of glasses. Seemed weird. "Though I don't think they'll do all this, just to disappoint otherwise." Saying that, I lay on my bed and put the glasses on.
[Scanning Retina... Found!]
[Welcome: Sei Kaguya]
"Amazing..." Just by scanning my eyes it already found my name.... Wait, that's kinda creepy.
[Logging in to Evergale Online]
I felt my eyes become heavy, before suddenly passing out, only to regain consciousness a second later.
Instead of my bedroom, I was now in a blue box. After taking a look at myself, I could see I was still wearing clothes, so that's good.
[Welcome To Evergale Online! Would you like to start the tutorial?]
"Yes." It'd be stupid not too.

[Teleporting to Beginner Village]
Pixels of light begin to surround me, as my body started to become light.
"Wait! What about the tutorial!" I didn't get an answer, only the feeling of what I can only assume is teleportation.
//////
From what the devs said. The Beginner Village is basically just the place where you begin the game. There are four of them in total. There are three main areas there, the first, obviously being the village. The next is the fields. The main place to start leveling up.
There's only 1 monster there. Swift Rabbit. As the name suggest, it has a high agility stat, higher than when you first start out the game. Other than that, it's pretty weak.
The final area is the forest. No one but the devs know what's in there, but it's an area only for level 5 and up.
Unlike some games, In Evergale, it's extremely hard to level up. Just from getting to level 2 would take half an hour of grinding non-stop. The difficulty only getting higher. You also have to hope you don't die. Doing so, drops you a level.
Basically, this game was made to be hard, yet fun. After you leave the Beginner Village, you'll be able to access so much content... So that's why.
"I'M LOOKING TO PARTY UP!"
"IS THERE ANYONE WILLING TO CARRY?!"
"LOOKING TO TRADE ITEMS!"
Everyone was already trying to get something done. Even though the game has just begun, people are try to buy items...
"It's loud." Shuffling through the large group of players, I tried to locate a Villager. Each villager here gives a quest, ranging from something simple like finding something, to killing Swift Rabbits. Rewards vary. The minimum is about 5 XP, along with some gold for each quest completed for right now. If you over complete it, you get a small bonus. "Though, I did see something weird in one of the game trailers... Could I find it here?"
In one of the game trailers, it showed a large scale view of this village, along with some close-ups. Among one of those was a green hut. The reason why I was suspicious, was because it only showed for a brief moment. Sure, it could've been because it wasn't important... But that's exactly why.
So, I spent 4 days figuring out it's exact location just from the large scale view. If it was for nothing, then I'll be pretty pissed... But if it was.
"Suppose I should find out."
/////
'Looks pretty small. Though, it looks exactly like the image.' The inside of the hut couldn't be seen, even with it being daytime. 'Welp, let's go in.' Shrugging, I step inside.
....Eh?
The only thing there was a large table. On it, was a old man. His body was covered in wounds, and he seemed to have trouble breathing.
"H- hey, are you oka-"
