Chapter 19 - Ch:19. Doggie

Rika's POV:

Rika who was crouching behind the bush and hiding , ready to sneak attack on skeleton was startled by the announcement.

Due to which she fell on her butt. This made skeleton aware of her presence and it started walking towards her.

Due to the announcement she got distracted from her target who was coming closer to her.

[Wave two will be starting shortly. ]

[Wave one progress (4/5), will be added in wave 2]

[Wave one (0/1)remaining/wave two (0/3) remaining. ]

'Whaaat?two waves at same time now!!!'

She didn't have time to think as skeleton attacked her with his sword.

Slash~

She barely dodged it and she walked butt backwards.

The sword was evaded at close distance that was less than a centimeter.

Quickly coming out of daze she stood up and started running away.

Skeleton didn't stay straight and started following her with full speed.

Rika kept running and after some distance she was confronted by two new enemies.

They were wolf like animals with lava falling from their mouth and their eyes were crimson red and looked like they were burning in anger.

[Mutated lava hound. ]

[Mutated lava hound. ]

[Mutated lava hound. ]

"W-What are these?! "She shouted.

The hounds were mutated and due to which they were in berserk state.

Looking at her enemies she stopped...

In front of her were two hounds and the skeleton to her back.

Looking at the situation only one thought came in her mind, 'I'm Fucked. '

She was trapped.

' Only' ways for her were at her left and right.

She quickly looked in both direction and decided to run left.

Left side had some dense trees and right side had open area.

It was safe to run right but monsters will catch her in no time.

She decided to run left because it had many places where she can confuse the monsters and environment can work in her advantage.

But the problem in running left was a hound.

One of the two hound was closer to her left side.

If she want to live, she have to react much faster than the hound.

If she manage to cross this line of defense then she was sure that she will somehow survive and take them out.

Well, it was all thought in a moment she stopped in between them.

As she turned her direction, pressed her legs on ground, used force on her legs, taking help of the friction she dashed in that direction with full speed.

The moment she ran, hounds who were waiting jumped on her.

Being calm despite her situation she didn't bother to look back and ran holding her guts.

'Yes, I am almost there. '

She thought as she reached closer to the dense tree forest.

She was just about to reach the place when suddenly a hound jumped on her but luckily his jump didn't reach her.

Feeling small gust of wind land on her hair she knew that hound just attacked her.

Running in hurry she picked up her pace and quickly entered the forest.

Squeezing through trunks running through wines making herself a decoy she managed to misdirect them.

Looking back confirming that no one is following her she sighed in relief.

"Good, now let's rest for a bit, eat some food and then sneak up on them. "

She said to herself while removing stored fruits from her inventory.

Few minutes passed...

She regained her strength after eating and resting. She was ready to confront her enemies. She had planned to sneak up on them. But their was a problem...

'My weapon, why do you have to break now. 'She cried.

Her weapon had cracks in it so it was very unreliable now because one mistake and hard way to afterlife.

She didn't want to take any risks as she didn't have any backup, nor any strength to support herself in panic situation.

As she was crying about it she remembered something ...

'Shall I go back and retrieve swords of skeletons I previously killed? ', she questioned herself.

It was hard to go back and retrieve it as there were many dangers crossing path of decided to go back.

'But I don't remember where I killed them. And I came too far away from that place. Going back will be bad idea.' she thought.

'I have to do something about it or else it will give me hard time later. 'she thought while looking at her weapon.

'hmm.. these cracks aren't big but if I use this recklessly then it will shatter in two to three uses. '

She had her weapon which was a simple big greyish bone of thigh of an unknown animal.

Looking at the cracks she got a solution.

She was not sure if it will work quite well or not.

'Let's see... '

She looked in her surrounding and walked towards a tree.

Jumping close to tree she held a big leaf of another tree.

'I have to check it first. '

She checked the league and found out that it had sturdy fibres.

'Yep, It will work quite well. ' she said finding it achievable.

Picking up the leaf she rushed towards her weapon. Reaching there she searched for a big stone where she smashed the leaf slightly separating the fibres from it and curling and twisting them into a rope.

'First I have to create a strong foundation for it hmm... '

Sitting down she held her bone weapon between her foot horizontally and tightened it causing the pressure to slightly close the gap.

Upon seeing the gap narrow she slowly but tightly circled the fibres around the bone creating a grip.

This increased the weapon's sturdiness which was the result she wanted.

'Looks like it will probably help me while fighting. '

She said and continued.. 'maybe I can think of a plan B. '

She swung her weapon like slashing swords in empty air.

'This weapon's grip is very good now and it will also absorb the shockwave and impact due to collision on any surface, I think. '

Now, was her problem of her weapon betraying was solved? No.

She still had some doubts about her weapon and she could not afford that that gamble. She have to rely on her plan B for that event which will be just hit and run.
