"You're awake?" Ian asked as Ivy left the bed with a yawn. She smiled at him as he wore his shirt. His hands were healed so there wasn't any need to help him with the buttoning procedure.
"Just this once, please," he begged, pulling her to him and she reluctanly begun the process. "I'll miss this," he muttered while engaging in her little task.
She recalled how the helpers at the orphanage buttoned up the shirts of the little boys there...then she realized that she missed them.
A month felt like a decade and she hadn't talked to them via a phone call. Though they sent texts and tried to call her, she didn't want to reply because of the fear of not being able to ask their battalion of questions.
"Is anything wrong?" he asked, noting her pale facial expression and she shook her head in disapproval but he still wanted a solid explanation.
