Chapter 4 The First Armor

After resting for a while, Han Jin came up to the ball of wisp and carefully extended his hand. He has 2 things to do with the wisp, the first one is to absorb it to heal himself, and the second one is to raise his strength.

After extending his hand, information has already appeared in his mind on what to do, and so he followed it according to what he needed.

To his astonishment, it did not even take a whole lot of the wisp to completely heal his wounds. Even the cracked ribs in his body stopped hurting after taking a few amounts.

"This is really miraculous…" he thought as he observes his body.

He can feel a strange warm feeling coursing through his veins as if being massaged by invisible hands. Although some parts would cause him to wince sometimes, it still made him feel astounded as he feels the healing effect.

Soon, he began to absorb the wisp to his body and slowly strengthen his muscles, nerves, and rest. After a while, he stopped and slowly opened his eyes.

He found himself sitting cross-legged in front of the floating wisp in front of him.

But the size of the wisp is still substantially big, and it seems that he has just taken half of it after healing his body and strengthening it.

"How much weight did I take this time?" he thought.

Then in his mind, he saw…

'2 balls of Chi was gathered… add to strength or reflex?'

"I need speed right now… so let's add this to reflex…" he muttered.

'Adding to reflex now...'

He soon felt something strange in his body. It was like his body suddenly became lighter than it used to be.

A slight smile appears on Han Jin. Though he might not be like those powerful people in Class-B or Class-A, he knew that someday, he would be able to get to where they are. That strength and power they have, he would be able to get that too.

After admiring the addition to his strength he suddenly noticed the snake in front of him.

Although its scales and skin were cut by the metal barb berry, he knew that it is because he used the strength of the snake against itself.

Judging from a normal person's view, even if he has 20 men fighting against that thing, they would not be able to hurt it.

He walks to the side of the snake and carefully touches the scaly surface of its carcass.

He tried to peel off a layer of its scale but to no avail.

"This is a tough one…" he thought.

He then looks at the floating wisp and a bout of information came to his mind.

'Material: Giant Black Python… Type: Animal Hide and food… Class: D… Report: A high quality and strong material with good flexibility and strong defense. When eaten, the meat would be a little tough, but tasty.'

The message is simple, but he could get the idea through it. If he crafted this thing into armor, then he would worry less while in this place, plus he could already get his own food with the carcass.

As his eyes landed on the head of the snake, another bout of information appears in his mind.

'Material: Giant Black Python… Type: Weapon… Class: D… Report: Sharpness equals that of steel with a bite of poison.'

When he saw this, he showed a slight elation in his eyes.

Who would have known that he could get two things in this gigantic corpse?

But he has no time to mule about it as he quickly made his decision to work.

Using his old knife and combining it with the ball of Chi according to the information in his mind, he began to cut the snake's body and then peel off the skin and separated it from the flesh.

Then he carefully removes e fangs of the snake and its poison sack. Although he could see that this thing is poisonous to some extent, the poison is not that deadly.

It could only paralyze its victim for a few minutes, just enough for it to kill its target.

But for him, the paralysis effect is something of a pleasant surprise.

While doing this chore, Han Jin did not remove fully concentrate as he still listens to his surroundings. But for some unknown reason, he could tell that there are no beasts entering the vicinity.

After removing some parts of the snake, he suddenly saw a small sack near its tail. It emits a strange smell which made him feel a bit intimidated.

"So this is the reason why no beast is coming here…" he thought as he realized something.

So since this place is safe for the time being, he decided to work as quickly as he could in this place near the corpse.

Using the ball of Chi, he quickly fashioned a piece of body armor and a few small knives. He even used a portion of the bones of the snake as a part of the armor.

It was already morning the next day when he was done with his task and quickly buried the rest of the carcass that he is unable to use anymore.

So far, in his hard work, he was able to fashion, a piece of body armor, some small knives made of snake teeth, and a backpack.

After exhausting the ball of Chi, Han Jin could feel accomplished after doing all of that.

Now that he is done with crafting and the smell of that thing is already fading he needs to quickly move away from the area as he knew that the blood would be able to attract move beast in this place.

As he moves through the forest, Han Jin was astonished as he feels a bit strange.

Though he knew that this is because of the increase in his reflexes, he still could not believe that his senses and speed became faster.

As he traverses through the forest, he would encounter some beasts, but he could easily detect or dodge them with ease. Then he would kill them using a small knife that could paralyze his target.

At first, it was very hard for him to hit any beast.

The first one that attacked him is another giant rat and so he decided to make it his target practice.

But it took him hours before he was able to get the hand of throwing the knife perfectly.

After that practice in the forest acting like a predator, it was already dark when he decided to stop and look for a place to rest and camp for the night.

"I noticed that in this area there are no huge beasts… only small ones…" he muttered while sitting atop a tall tree's large branch.

He carefully takes out a cured snake meat wrapped in a leaf.

He has already prepared a covered stove so that he could cook his food. And on the side, he made a hollow on the side of the tree and filled it with some twigs. After lighting it, he carefully put a few of the meat inside and began smoking them.

Han Jin took the meat in the leaf and then began roasting it on the fire stove he made of the tree trunk.

In the army, he already practiced this action hundreds of times in their survival training, so he know what to do in this kind of situation.

After having a sumptuous meal, he rested for a while after he finished smoking the snake meat and turning off the flame inside the tree trunk.

It was in the middle of the night when he was suddenly jolted into awakening after hearing some grunting sound coming from below him.

He did not make any sudden moves and just slowly leaned on the side. He was startled to see a huge warthog a few meters below the tree that he was in.

Upon seeing the warthog, a drop of saliva almost fell from his mouth.

Though snake meat is delicious, it still could not be compared with the meat of a wild boar.

While looking at the size of that thing which is almost as big as a horse, made Han Jin almost jump up and attack it.

But he knew that he could not lower his guard in his place.

If he kills that thing and some other beasts smell the blood, he is sure that those things will not back away just like what they did with the giant snake.

So he decided to observe it first before striking.

He has already secured the backpack on the tree that he was on and has checked his gears.

Like a panther crouching on a tree branch, Han Jin watches the warthog with rapt attention.

Suddenly, it tilted its head and looks in his direction which made his heart skip a beat.

Grunt! Grunt!

Hearing those two grunts from the beast almost made his heart fall.

He knew that he was discovered by the beast.

Bam!!!

The tree that he was in suddenly began shaking… he knew that if he did not make a move, then that tree would fall along with him.

He is actually not concerned with himself right now but the food inside the bag.

So he quickly shifted his body and then jumps to another tree branch which is not too far from him.

When the warthog saw that, it quickly charged toward the tree and rammed it with all its might.

When Han Jin saw that, he could only curse the overgrown pig for its craftiness.

"Damn it… I'm dead…" he helplessly muttered as he missed the tree branch and fell directly to the ground.
