To me, it was a great deal in exchange for the stealing luck technique and the time lord not sharing the technique with anyone I got the precious and scarce Time path research and research theories.
What I did not share with him was the karma involved in killing people who have no karma or fate with you.
Killing unnecessarily burns and darkens the soul. Although the karma is so negligible that if you kill 9 universes completely it will leave a burn mark the size of a hair.
Nothing happened to my soul considering I had a fate with those universes since they tried to rebel against me, kill me, and steal my property.
While that is nothing for all cultivators it is a burden. It is like having some small flakes of dead skin on your body which itches and gets in the way of your daily activities.
Of course, you can remove it easily if it were the body but the soul that is another matter altogether.
