Chapter 19 - Revelation

=============

[Ding! You gained Sin Points]

Wrath + 100 (Unknown)

Wrath + 500 (Earl Sandro)

Wrath + 500 (Karl)

==============

Dave, already inside Sandro's castle, was stunned. He guessed that Sandro was now full of anxiety as his plan had failed.

After traveling for many hours to reach Earl Sandro's territory, Dave conducted a preliminary investigation.

He discovered that Sandro's territory was remarkably weak, lacking strong subordinates.

This knowledge emboldened him to undertake a solo infiltration with little concern for personal safety.

He didn't know who Karl was, but he assumed he was one of Sandro's companions.

'I'll kill them both.'

His assumption was correct. Karl, dressed in black, became furious upon learning that two of his men had died, a significant loss for his organization.

Dave would check how many sin points he gained later, but he still had a job to do.

He carried Draco with him, noticing that the more Draco ate, the faster his growth became.

Draco could now enlarge himself to 4 meters, but he still couldn't fly.

He could also make himself smaller, and currently, he was the size of a cat, making him irresistibly cute.

Dave couldn't help but pinch his cheeks.

Draco cannot fight him and can only surrender to Dave's hands.

As he walked forward, he noticed many guards patrolling the area.

"Looks like he is anxious to strengthen their defenses," he said to himself.

Earl Sandro had indeed ordered a tightening of security, fearing potential retaliation from the other party if the assassins revealed his involvement in the assassination attempt.

The mere thought of the guardian learning about his role filled him with terror.

Dave was in Conceal mode, allowing him to easily bypass the guards.

He spotted a maid carrying food and drinks, guessing she was headed to Sandro's room.

He silently followed her, and she didn't even notice him.

She approached a room and opened the door.

"Lord, please take your food," she said, bowing before leaving.

Sandro ignored her, his mind chaotic.

"What should I do? I never wanted to be involved in this, but I have no choice," he muttered.

He fervently hoped that the guardian would never find out he had hired the assassins.

"Well, well, well, as expected of the Earl. He strengthened his defenses when he failed to assassinate someone,"

Dave remarked as he released his concealment.

Sandro was shocked, and as he was about to speak, Dave had already seized him by the neck.

"You know I hate someone plotting against me, and I will make them suffer,"

Dave sneered, thinking, Hehehe, a mere Earl wanted to hurt me? Hah, a fool's dream. Luckily, I was strong enough; otherwise, I might have died.

He already died before and dying again is not in his vocabulary.

Dave squeezed his neck and demanded, "Why do you want to assassinate me? I know you don't have the guts since you are just a weak Grandmaster."

Sandro was shocked by Dave's power; it seemed his strength was deliberately concealed to fool his enemies.

At 40 years old, he was a Grandmaster. He had heard that Dave was also a Grandmaster, but he quickly realized the gap between them was enormous, leaving him unable to fight back.

In his heart, he cursed his fate, realizing his end was near.

When Sandro didn't answer and merely stared at Dave, he immediately used his skill <>.

"Hmm, since you don't want to answer, don't blame me," Dave chuckled.

"Why do you want to kill me?" he pressed.

Sandro's willpower was weak, and he easily fell into a hypnotic state, losing control of his mind.

His face became blank as he answered truthfully. "It was the mission given by the higher-ups of the Black Turtle Kingdom. They want to get rid of you to prevent another strong figure from arising."

"They heard you have a dragon, so they decided to kill you even if it was risky. I was the spy they planted in the Dragon Empire to monitor the happenings here and report back to them."

Dave was stunned by this revelation; he hadn't expected them to be bold enough to send assassins to kill him.

Though he didn't have a grudge against the Turtle Empire, they had still attacked him because of his talent. They feared that another guardian like Lucas might emerge, thwarting their hopes of rising.

Despite the world appearing peaceful and stable, other empires continued to scheme against one another.

The Dragon Empire, however, was confident in its strength and ready to wage war if any of the other empires made a wrong move.

He asked again, "Was the assassin I killed one of your men?"

Sandro replied, "No, they are from the Shadow House. They are a notorious organization that kills targets for money."

Dave inquired about their base, but Sandro didn't know, as they were very exclusive.

"Looks like I still have much to learn about the Continent."

Dave used his hypnotism to erase Sandro's memory of his arrival.

Satisfied with his answers, he immediately knocked Sandro out, stripped him of his clothes, and carried him silently. He crippled Sandro's power and hung him at his own gate.

He knew Sandro would die in 30 minutes, as he was powerless and had sustained severe injuries.

To ensure the truth came to light, Dave posted all of Sandro's documents on the wall, revealing his transactions with the Black Turtle Empire.

After that, he left silently and returned to his dorm.

It was now 10 p.m., so he took a bath and rested.

He noticed he had gained 15,000 sin points from Sandro and Karl.

Uncertain of the dangers lurking in the Empire, he realized he needed to become stronger, faster, to eliminate them.

He couldn't always rely on his father; he needed more time to grow.

Even without a personal grudge against them, they were still targeting him, so he etched their names into his heart.

Deciding to rest for now, Dave carried Draco to his bed, and they slept together.
