Chapter 22 - Chapter 20.5: Omake V2

All About the Characters of

The Knight of Prophecy

Hello again, as you can see, most of my characters are people from the past or is a historical figure. I did that to have a solid foundation on how will I build my characters, be it their personality, appearance, history, or skills.

I would like to introduce my characters this time and their origins as well.

Shin Sasaki:

-To be honest, I really did think hard on how will I name our main character here, but after thinking for a while, I just decided that his name will be connected to the main plot. So yeah, just like in chapter 8, his name is exactly how Azrael explained it.

Aria Sasaki

-Aria's name means "Song" or "Melody" I did think of the name that will have a huge impact on the story. Her name will also play a huge role on Shin's development.

Kojiro Sasaki

-I got his name from Japan's very own Kojiro Sasaki, one of the best samurai to ever exist. He lived during the Azuchi–Momoyama and early Edo periods and is known primarily for the story of his battle with Miyamoto Musashi in 1612, where Sasaki was killed. And his famous sword style is Ganryu.

Roland Sasaki

-In the story, Roland only got the Sasaki surname when he was adopted by Sasaki Kojiro. He actually doesn't have one and his name came from one of the heroes of the Roman Empire, Roland. Nephew of Charlemagne and also the commander of the rearguard army.

Azrael Sasaki

-Azrael's name means The Angel of Death in the jewish tradition. It was mostly a name common for boys but I decided to make her a girl, for no serious reasons, I just thought it would be cool that way.

Lionheart Pendragon

-Lionheart's name came from the King of England, Richard the Lionheart. His name is actually a title that was given to the bravest warriors, but I actually find the Lionheart a way cooler name than Richard, so that's why he was named Lionheart.

Luther Enthopia

-King Luther's name was supposed to be Uther but I don't like the name Uther that much so I decided to turn it into Luther. In the Arthurian Legends, Uther/Luther is King Arthur's father but I decided to shake it up a bit, and that's why King Arthur became Luther's foster uncle instead of being his son.

Merlin

-Merlin, the great sage. Her name also came from the Arthurian Legends. Supposedly, Merlin is a name for the sage who supports King Arthur but in the Knight of Prophecy, she is the Grand Sorceress of the Kingdom of Enthopia. Same roles, but different in gender and the country she's serving.

Igraine Enthopia

-Yeah, I also got her name from the Arthurian Legends. There, she was King Arthur's mother, but in my story, she's not but she still remained as King Luther's wife.

The seven Archangels (Micheal, Raphael, Gabriel, Jophiel, Camael, Uriel, and Sariel)

-Including Azrael, the names of the seven archangels came from the well known archangels in every tradition. The meaning of their names and position remains the same in the books.

Lancelot

-Lancelot is a well known knight from the Arthurian Legends, known as the knight of the lake. He is one of the twelve knights of the round table, but in my story he is known as The hero of love, but his title as Knight of the Lake is still intact.

Gawaine

-Gawaine is also from the Arthurian Legends, known as the Knight of the Sun or The green knight. He is also member of the Knights of the round table. In my story, he's not the green knight but his title the Knight of the Sun still remains.

Tristan

-Just like both Gawaine and Lancelot, Tristan is also part of the Knight of the Round table known for his immense strength that's why I made him the War Knight in my story.

Mamoru

-Mamoru's name came from one of my favorite anime directors Hosada Mamoru known for his animes like The Girl who Leaped Through Time, Belle, and Wolf Children. Mamoru is a boy's name but I decided to make her a female because of her role in the story.

General Antonio Luna

-As we all know, General Luna is considered as the best general in the Philippines to ever exist. His personality might be a bit different because of his own character development, his history, feats, and even role is still the same.

Abaddon

-The Hebrew term Abaddon, and its Greek equivalent Apollyon appear in the Bible as both a place of destruction and an angel of the abyss. That's right, the fitting name for the Demon General of the West, Abaddon.

Arthur Pendragon

-The King of Camelot in both the Arthurian Legend and in my Novel. The great king who ruled over Britannia in the myths and the center of the Knights of the Round Table.

Kaguya

-From the well known japanese literature and story The Tale of the Bamboo cutter. Just like in the story, he is the Priestess of the Moon, just like her role in my story.

Shimizu Masamune

-In my story he is the one who forged the sword of Shin, Muramasa, and The Nodachi of Kojiro. But even in history, it is said that he is also the one who forged those, but this time, I also added the sword of Mamoru which is Kusanagi.

Minor characters

Now these are the characters who only have a minor role, or has a major role but still haven't had a proper introduction and was just mentioned in the novel.

Serrah Enthopia

-Her name Serrah came from the name Serah/Sierra in hebrews meaning "star" and was also came from the bible. She's the daughter of Asher and granddaughter of Jacob, but in The Knight of Prophecy, she's the daughter of King Luther of Enthopia.

Sigurd Enthopia

-Sigurd's name came from the Norse hero Sigurd/Siegfried who is also know as The Dragon Slaying Hero. It may sound ironic because his father's power came from a Dragon God.

Guinevere

-The wife of King Arthur, and the Queen of Camelot in both legends and in my novel. But in my novel, she will never become Lancelot's concubine unlike in the Arthurian Legend.

Ayame Sasaki

-A one time character that appears in Kojiro's backstory. Her name Ayame came from the word "Iris" which is a plant that blooms in full sun. A fitting name for the best swordswoman in the land where the sun rises, Reishen.

Goza Nobutsuna

-Goza's name came from one of the noble families in Japan in the past. Though in the story he was only introduced as Goza, but Goza Nobutsuna is his full name.

Amaterasu

-Just like in the Shinto Mythology, Amaterasu or Amaterasu-Omikami, she is also considered as The Sun Goddess in my story.

Tsukiyomi

-Tsukiyomi or Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto is also one of the main Gods in the Shinto Mythology. He is The Moon God in both my story and in the myths.

Mars

-The Roman God of War who also serves the same purpose in my novel. I also got his name from the game Defense of the Ancients (DotA) where he is also considered as God of War.

Kainas

-Kainas is just a random name I came up with, I tried to search for a proper name for my Goddess of the Forest but I saw nothing, so I just think of something and came up with the name Kainas.

Ryuujin

-In many myths, Ryuujin always exist as the Dragon God of the Seas and it's the same in my novel, but I also made him become the Dragon God of the Storm and Lightning.

Astaroth

-The name of our very own Demon King of Destruction came from the Demon God of Chaos time and space. He's not the strongest demon in the demonology but it's a fitting name and strength for a Demon King.

Adromalech

-His name came from the name of the fallen angel Adramelech who was vanquished by Uriel and Raphael.

(Note: The scope of this extra chapter is only the ones who appeared or mentioned in the volumes 1 and 2 so you can expect more new characters to come.)
