This morning has been far more chill than I assumed it would be. Professor Adams' attitude towards me had made a complete 180 which caught me very off guard, otherwise he didn't act weird. I'm glad I'm not going to get harassed in this class, but his flip is disconcerting.
We didn't learn anything about Magic, but he did tell us all a lot about how our schedules are going to work.
We'll only be having three of our six classes per day, and we're completely done with them at midday. Though we only have Sunday as a full day off. Apparently this is a new system. I like the extra time we're being given at the end of the day regardless. The school seems to emphasize self-study and training over active teaching. I like it.
I'm still not used to being around the Princess, and Alex echoes the sentiment with his blatant nerves. Though to be honest, she isn't overbearing as much as her title is. I'd even go so far as to say that she has the attitude of a naive lost child, metaphorically clinging to the first person she met. Maybe it's way off base, but that's what I'm thinking based on what I've seen.
Speaking of Alex, that guy is still a weirdo. He's upbeat, outgoing, and generally energetic 99% of the time, but he shrivels the moment the Princess appears. It couldn't be because she did anything to him, as I questioned him and he said I'd been there every time he was around her, so I don't get it. Maybe he's just... bad with women? I don't know, it'll probably become clear at some point later.
I tried to say hi to Ana but I don't think she saw me.
All throughout Magic Theory, I kept getting strange looks from the red haired girl, and glared at by the Prince. I tried to ignore them, but it was getting hard by the end of the class.
When Professor Adams' dismissed us I walked with the Princess to Comp. History, and I tried talking with her about various things since the silence was uncomfortable... for me at least. I did most of the speaking.
History came and went without issue, only because Professor Zeal got lost in a monologue about motivation. I don't know if or when we're going to actually learn some history, but it's only the second day so I shouldn't be too pessimistic.
Soon enough, the bell rang and Professor Zeal reluctantly let us leave. I stood and waited briefly for the Princess before exiting the room with the crowd. We slowly make our way towards our next class, the only one I was looking forward to today, Practical Magic.
I don't say anything to the Princess as we walk this time since I'm too busy preparing myself for that room. I vividly remember that horrible feeling when we first went in there. I also remember that disgusting potion the Professor gave me.
Despite those bad experiences, I'm still looking forward to the class since being able to use my magic freely sounds fun. The school has rules against reckless magic use since most of the students aren't experienced, so I haven't had much time to flex my magic muscles.
We arrive in front of the classroom... or at least where I remember it being. I can't see the door past a large crowd of students. I can see the distinct hair of the Prince and the red haired girl in the crowd. The Prince seems to have a small perimeter around him where no one is standing, while the red haired girl seems to be drowning in people.
"Oh hey Morgan!" A familiar voice calls from behind me.
"Hi Alex."
"How was your last class?"
"Good, the Professor didn't actually teach us anything." It doesn't seem like he has noticed the Princess yet.
"Ha! I heard Professor Zeal is a pain in the ass."
"So far he definitely is."
We continue to chat for a moment before another familiar voice floats across the crowd.
"Sorry about the delay everyone!" Professor Jackson seems to have come out of the room to greet the crowd.
"I'm Professor Hrosthk, but you can call me Professor Jackson. I'll be your instructor for Practical Magic Application this year." He continues.
"Before we all enter the room, I'd like to get a show of hands for who has experience wielding magic."
Everyone raises a hand and he nods in satisfaction.
"Good. If anyone didn't raise their hand I'd have had to ask them to leave." He says with a smile.
"Now, I'd like you all to form a single file line down the hall from the door. I'll have one person enter the room at a time, so this may take a while." He gestures towards the wall by the door and then enters the room leaving the door slightly cracked open.
The crowd slowly shifts until a vaguely single file line has formed along the wall. The Princess, Alex, and I have ended up somewhere in the middle of it. It seems like Alex noticed the Princess now that he's stuck between us.
He is awkwardly facing towards me and avoiding looking in her direction. I seriously don't get this guy's weirdness with the Princess, I've not seen any other person act like this around her.
"The first person can enter." Professor Jackson calls out from inside the room, and the kid at the front of the line walks toward the door.
I can't see anything happening inside, but I think he stopped just inside and is doing something with the Professor. I wonder if they're having the same reaction to it that the Princess and I did.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see, it'll be a while until we're up there. Standing around in line is going to get boring really fast. At least I have Alex as entertainment in the meantime.
I kick up a conversation in an attempt to thaw his frozen visage.
"So about Professor Zeal..."
