in church, Gabriella's mom just got down from her car when she sighted someone who looked like her ex husband.
" Hey, Valentina" He said grinning
" Tom?" she asked confused
" " long time no see, Val" He said nervously
" wow, what...what are you doing here?"
" I come to church here"
" oh.. so? I uh... we'll see after service right?" Gabriella's mom asked
" yeah, sure. Why not?"
After service, they bumped into each other again
" hi" Valentina said shyly
" sorry, I just...you are....how are you?" he stuttered
" I'm fine, you?"
" Great, and buttercup?"
" she's... I think she's fine " Valentina said smiling

" mines good too I guess. I heard you got married again, so where is he?"
" oh we're uh... divorced"
" again?" Tom asked then closing his mouth immediately " I'm sorry"

" I see. It must have affected Gabriella " He said his head down
" it did, a lot and I don't even know how to help. We've grown so distant"

" Hey!!!. You don't know her anymore so please don't assume anything "

" it's too late now, Tom. I have to go" she said and ran to her car
" Valentina I'm sorry" Tom said face palming himself
At home, Gabriella's mom came back crying. Even though Gabriella doesn't really like her mom, she just couldn't stand seeing her mom in tears.
" mom?, what happened" Gabriella asked concerned but her mother just walked past her without saying a word" that's rude "
"" I'm sorry Gab. Irs just I don't know why I..." she stopped to look at Gabriella " I saw your father today" she said sadly
" " really? that's great news " Gabriella said excitedly
" no its not Gab. I don't want to be with him"
" but you met him right? and he asked how you were doing* gasps* did you guys exchange numbers" Gabriella kept on blabbing
" No!!! I did not"
" but you still love him right?" Gabriella asked holding her moms hand
" ....yes, I do. But u don't want to. I shouldn't be in love with him but I still do" Valentina smiled weakly" I'm going to rest" she said going upstairs
" I should've gone to church" Gabriella said sadly and slumped on the chair. Immediately, Dan entered again without knocking
" do you have a rule against personal space?" Gabriella asked angrily snapping back to reality
" what happened to the security?"
" you don't answer a question with a question, Dan"
" sure, what happened to you?" Dan asked noticing Gabriella's sour attitude
" why do I always cry when your around?" She asked weakly
" probably because I let you say out your emotions and help you contain it"

" did you miss me?" Dan asked trying to lift the mood
" no I didn't miss you. Infact I enjoyed my day without you in it"
