Alissa approached us, her gown rustling against the floor. She was dressed up flashier than usual today, wearing a gown I'd never thought of picturing her in. It was in a navy blue color accentuated with white, her shoulders bare with only halter straps meeting across her chest. The bell sleeves billowed right down her wrists, lined with gold embroidery at the ends. The skirt was large, supported by a petticoat underneath. I had thought she dreaded these kinds of clothes.
"Welcome home, Rosie," she dipped her chin, giving me a small smile. "You have been missed greatly."
"Great timing, Alissa!" Kiera went up to her, held the cuffs of her sleeves. "Rosie was just about to tell us her adventures!"
Alissa slid a glance toward me. "Oh, was she now?"
"Yes, yes! She was going to start before you arrived. Isn't that right, Rosie?" Sheryl had her hands clasped, her expression full of excitement and anticipation.
