Chapter 1 - A day in the life

I wake up to my mom yelling that I have two hours to get up and dressed because we have a associates brunch. Groaning I get out of bed and walk to my bathroom to get ready. About 30 minutes later I'm out of the shower and standing in my closet deciding on what to wear. I finally pick a white cami top with a pink slit skirt that falls below the knees.

Walking down the stairs I see my mom and dad speaking quietly. When I enter the room mom stops talking and goes to grab her bag. I roll my eyes and wait for them to say something.

"Good now that you're ready we can leave. We are going to be late because of you anyway so might as well be fashionably late." Mother exclaimed as she grabs her Chanel purse and heads out the door.

When we arrive I notice that no one I particularly know is there. That means that I'm gonna be awkward and uncomfortable. Great. I sit in my chair and realize that I'm in front of a girl that looks around my age, maybe she's nice. I ordered my food which consisted of 2 pieces of French toast, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and in orange juice. What can I say I'm basic. Oh well. I hear scraping of a chair and look to my right as Atlas sits in the empty seat and gives me a small smile. I return it and focus on my food.

"Your going to eat all that?" utters the girl in front of me with disgust. "I-I um well yea?" I question scolding myself for stuttering. "Well if you want to be fat then enjoy yourself." She says rather rudely. I look down at my hands that are in my lap with red cheeks of embarrassment. I feel a poke on my side and look to my right as Atlas whispers "Don't let her get to you she's just another snobby rich girl who thinks a diet is a personality trait." In my ear. I nod my head and continue eating my food. After brunch my parents pay for our meal and inform me that they are going to the company and not to wait up. So I do what I usually do and I go home with Atlas. When we get to his house I his mom greets us with a smile. To be honest, she's more of a mom then mine is to me. Atlas and I head to his room, when I walk in I ask if I can borrow some clothes because I no longer want to be in a skirt.

"You know you don't have to ask just go take whatever you want." He exclaimed. " I know but I have to ask I don't wanna intrude." I respond. " Leila we have been friends since you were ten you don't have to ask about anything and you're not intruding. Get your ass up and go fine some clothes" he chuckles. "Aye Aye captain." I say and then salute. He smiles and shakes his head at my antics then walks off to give me privacy. I get dressed in a black shirt and some old sweat pants that I still have to roll so they don't fall if my waist. I then proceed to plop on his bed next to him and groan "I'm soooo tired." He laughs and tells me to go to sleep then. I agree and get under the blanket. "Where are you going?" I ask when he gets up from the bed. "The bathroom. Why do you want to hold my hand?" He asks sarcastically. "No but hurry up your my source of warmth." I yell so he can hear me through the door. My head is shoved in a pillow when I feel the right side of the bed dip. He gets under the covers and lays on his back. I smile and turn towards him putting my head in his chest. He plays with my hair until I succumb to darkness.

"Alright princess it's time to get up" someone whispered to me. Princess. The name Atlas has called me since we met. "Noooo. Ten more minutes!" I mumbled into his chest. "Come on its time to eat get up" he responded. "Ugh but I'm not even hungry." I whined. "Oh well, you haven't eaten since 1:00 and it's 9:30 so let's go eat." He protests. Knowing he's right and I should go eat something I get up and follow him to the kitchen. "Hello darling." Mrs. Akira, Atlas's mom, said to me. "Hi." I mumbled. "Are you tired dear? You know you can also spend the night here. I don't mind and I'm sure your parents don't either. She says. "Yea just let me text them." I replied.

Me: Do you mind if I stay at Atlas's tonight?

Mother dearest: No.

Me: Ok thanks goodnight.

I sigh and lay my head down on the island. "Why do you want to eat princess?" Atlas asked.  "It doesn't matter At." He sighs and makes me some soup. I finish it and head up to his room again. He follows me and tells me to take a shower. "I'm going to get you some clothes hand me your key." I hand him my house key and proceed to his bathroom to take a shower. We are neighbors so it shouldn't take him long. After about ten minutes I hear a knock on the door. "Come in!" I yell through the door. "Hey I got you your clothes they are on the counter. I'm going to take a shower in the guest room." He tells me. "Ok thank you. You're the best." I reply. He gives me a cocky smirk and tells me he knows. 15 minutes later and I get out the shower and wrap a towel around my body. On the counter I find the clothes he has grabbed for me and put them on. I dry my hair and get in my side of his bed and lay down. A few minutes later I feel the bed dip and warm arms wrap around me. "Goodnight princess." Atlas says placing a kiss on my temple. "Goodnight At." I reply. Not long after darkness engulfs me.
