"Shit, that hurts," Ezio said as he tried to get up. "Wait, wait! Time out!"
"Tough luck, Main," Manny smirked as his two hands pushed the air forward from his back. The motion looked like pushing someone to the ground. But with this simple notion, a tide of fierce water appeared where his palms ended and ran in his direction.
"Tide of Peace!"
"F*ck!" Ezio punched the sky as he limited the Mana Force. A wall of metal appeared in front of him but this time it was only as big as him. He kicked the wall as soon as the waves were in front of him. The metal wall fell on the water, as Ezio stood on top of it to ride the tide. Although the force behind the waves was strong, it lost its ferociousness quite easily. Ezio surfed on it as he approached Manny who was looking back dumbfounded.
While he was surprised at the creative way of using spells, Ezio pushed his arms forward and created a wave of his own. Manny smirked as he too formed a metal surfing board which was even better than Ezio's. But unlucky for him, this was part of his plan.
As soon as Manny stood on top of the metal structure, Ezio swung the dagger with lightning swimming on it to the water just beneath Manny. Water was conductive, and so was metal. The lightning reached metal and from there to Manny. But to Ezio's surprise, a shell of Earth appeared around Manny and deflected the lightning.
"Tides of life are a lot like the tides of enemies. Push forward when you are against them, push forward to pave your way. A gentleman should always push forward in order to create the required peace."
"Earth is strong. It can defend against almost anything. A gentleman needs to lay on dirt or sleep on rocks if necessary to learn this quality. After all, an Earth Armor can protect the gentleman against many attacks."
"Oh, pitiful Main. I've already seen your tricks. Do you truly believe I wouldn't foresee your actions?" Manny said with a condescending smirk plastered on his ugly mug.
"Damn you!" Ezio snorted. "When you created the metal wall?"
"Yes, I was out of your sight because of the metal wall. So I used the armor. The best part of this technique is that it cannot be seen until it is actively used." Manny explained.
"Good technique. You lied to me though!" Ezio pointed at his finger. "You said there was only a rain spell with the water element."
"Are you not listening to me, Main?" Manny snorted as he showed the ground. "First of all, there is only one water elemental technique I learned so far. There are still other spells in the book but I haven't mastered them yet.
Secondly, if the quotes are about peace, which means the philosophy of the Gentleman, not the ideology. These spells came from the second book."
"Oh, I assumed the second was only about the advanced forms of elements like the explosion." Ezio nodded in understanding.
"Assumptions and preconceived notions are wrong, and therefore, our interpretation of events is incorrect," Manny said haughtily.
"Fine, fine, my bad. Gee!" Ezio raised his arm as he said. "Any more spells?"
"Couple of more," Manny said but sat on the ground in the next second. "I ran out of Mana Force, let's rest first."
"Okay." Ezio raised his hand as he too sat down.
"Tra—"
"Whe—"
Both of them said at the same time after some silence.
"You go first," Ezio said.
"No, no. You can ask." Manny added.
"Please, I insist. You started first." Ezio said assertively.
"Trading didn't work huh?" Manny asked after some more awkward silence.
"The value of the manuals is too low. Although I don't know what is the source of trades. I mean where do items come from or where mines go?" Ezio asked.
"Well, I don't know much about trading. Trader Ezio doesn't speak much." Manny said.
"Anyway, all I got was some other low-quality Qi techniques. I am learning them to exchange 100 with a higher grade, but it still gonna take some time."
"That sounds hopeful, doesn't it?" Manny asked.
"Yeah. Then it means I have to exchange these two manuals." Ezio said as he summoned the Gentleman Series. "Which I don't want to."
"I recommend you not to," Manny said. "These manuals can teach more than spells. I feel like there is more to them so let's just keep them for the time being."
"Alright." Ezio was feeling the same so readily accepted it.
"What were you going to say?" Manny asked as he remembered Ezio too had something to say.
"Oh, I was gonna ask where your titles come from. I mean I understand Blacky, Alcy, Doc, and all, but Mana Master?" Ezio asked.
"They are our identities. We were born with them so we feel them as we awaken." Manny said. "Like Anon though, this is not my real title. Again, like Anon's, you are not ready to hear my real title yet but I don't mind you calling me this for now."
"I see." Ezio nodded. "So why did you tell Anon would be upset if I called him with the wrong name?"
"He is a bit…" Manny said as he held his chin. "Prideful? I don't know."
"Okay, I will figure it out in time, I suppose." Ezio shook his head, "Let's continue."
Next, Manny showed some other spells he had learned. The gravity spell was really useful.
"A gentleman is required to bring down hell on his enemies. Raining rocks and metals on your enemies will show them the true value of peace. Touch them to unburden them."
With this spell, they could reduce the gravity of any object for ten seconds. Including themselves and other people. But the main use was reducing the weight of big boulders and throwing them at enemies.
"A gentleman must be able to reconnaissance the enemy territory. For that purpose, kick the ground and float in the air. A gentleman can float in the air like a bird. After all, a bird's eye view can give you the best details."
Sadly the technique only allowed them to float and not actually fly. But when used with the gravity reducing technique, it was quite helpful.
