Chapter 11 - Force Signium

"What has brought you here, Little Ezio?" asked Abbot with a warm smile. He was brewing tea and didn't even look behind.

"I greet Abbot," Ezio said, as he clasped his hands. He wasn't local and didn't really understand the custom of the people of the sect, yet he grew up here. He still followed some of them. But, people still didn't force outsiders to follow all of them. "I experienced something when I broke through yesterday. I wanted to ask Abbot about it."

Ezio wanted to ask Abbot about the universe he saw when he broke through two times.

"Oh, what have you seen? Tell me." Abbot asked in interest as he turned around. He poured two cups of tea, but Ezio ran over to take over. After all, he couldn't let Abbot serve him tea. Even though he wasn't following all of the customs of the local people, he was still respectful to this elder.

"I was in an endless universe. There was a pressure I can't put into words. It was affecting my body, mind, and soul. I believe I was in the Signium Plane." Ezio started to explain. In fact, he wasn't a stranger to the universe he saw two times. But he couldn't be sure, because there was no way he could experience that feeling before breaking through to Force Opening Realm.

"There were countless galaxies, and countless stars in each of them. There was an illusory curtain obscuring my vision. But when I prevailed through, I saw some visions in those stars." Ezio tried his best to explain.

"What have you seen in the stars?" Abbot was obviously zealous. He was sitting upright, his eyes widened and he was breathing heavily.

At first, Ezio was planning to tell what he had seen in both visions, but then he realized the difference between the two visions was related to Mana and Qi. If he were to tell what he saw in the vision after his Mana breakthrough, Abbot could discern his Mana Cultivation.

"I saw lots of weapons with different elements. Swords in lightning, spears in fire and ice, daggers cutting through oceans, hammers with lots of elements, and some animals with different abilities." Ezio explained. I know these are Force Signiums, but I haven't broken through to Force Opening Realm. How can I experience it?"

Force Signiums were abilities that cultivators would acquire when they broke through each stage, after Force Opening Realms. The celestial bodies Ezio has seen were just the tip of the mountain. There were endless Force Signiums in the endless sky. Unfortunately, each cultivator could acquire one Force Signiums for each level they breakthrough.

"What you have experienced is early awakening," Abbot said zestfully. "You know every cultivator can acquire a Force Signium after they break through each level. But there are different tiers of those signiums, as well."

"There are 11 curtains in that galaxy, and passing through each of them is harder than climbing to heaven. But one in a million, no, one in a hundred million geniuses can experience an early awakening." Abbot said excitedly.

"What good is there to experience an early awakening? I wasn't able to acquire a star." Ezio wasn't as excited. If he wasn't able to acquire a star a level earlier, what was there to be so excited about.

"Of course, there is good in that. By experiencing early awakening you are now familiar with the pressure. The best of the best geniuses in the world can only pass through the third curtain, and acquire a third-tier star upon awakening. But those who can experience early awakening can pass through the fourth curtain most of the time." Abbot's words made Ezio as happy as a clam.

"Now that you have experienced the early awakening, you can prepare yourself for the pressure you felt in the galaxy. It is just like you said, no word in the world can explain that feeling. That is why no one can prepare for the first time, but you can."

Of course, Ezio understood the importance of the early awakening now that he heard Abbot's explanation. And he didn't even experience it once but twice. He was so lucky. Even when it was a day apart, when he was in the galaxy for the second time, he felt it was easier to pass through the curtain. 'I believe I can pass through the fourth curtain easily when I break through to the Force Opening Realm.'

"Greetings Abbot." As Ezio was grinning while imagining his bright future, a voice came from outside.

"Come on in, Elder Jie," Abbot said calmly.

A tall man with a face looking in his thirties walked in. Even though he looked young, his shoulder-length hair and thick beard were white.

"Oh, Little Ezio, you are here too. It is better, I wanted to see you after talking with Abbot." Elder Jie said as he spotted Ezio in deep thought.

"Greetings Elder Jie." Ezio saluted cutely. "How may I be of assistance?"

"It is nothing serious." Elder Jie said as he sighed and sat on the mattress. "Earlier today, disciples of Tian Xu came to my hut to ask me for the Pristine Iron ingot I have. I have had it for years and never found an opportunity to use it. So, I thought it was a good opportunity to trade it with their service. That is why I give them a mission to bring me the blood of a Third Tier Fire Tiger I need for cooking some pills.

But when I was coming to see Abbot for authenticating the Quest, I ran into Elder Solon. He told me about you and how you needed the Pristine Iron ingot. I believe it is not a coincidence that the disciples of Tian Xu came to find me. They are trying to hinder your achievement."

"Thank you for explaining to me Elder Jie. I hope you can give me the same opportunity to hunt Fire-Tiger." Ezio asked respectfully. He had a good impression of Elder Jie. He was an upright man and the best alchemist in the Sect. Ezio would learn from him from time to time. But since Elder Jie promised the disciples prior to running into Elder Solon, he couldn't just take his words back to give them to Ezio. That is why Ezio also wanted a fair chance in this quest.

"As much as I want you to have it, I can't give you the same quest. The disciples of Tian Xu have 3 Qi Force Opening cultivators, and they are 5 people. Third Tier Demonic Beasts are considered equal to the Qi Force Opening Realm cultivators, but in fact, Demonic Beasts are stronger than humans in the same tier. They have the advantage of the number, there is no way you can kill a Third Tier Demonic Beast with your cultivation." Elder Jie sighed. "I can't let you kill yourself."

"Thank you for your teaching Elder Jie, but as long as it is me who brought the blood, I will be considered to finish the quest right?" Ezio asked with an evil smile.

"What are you planning, you little devil?" Elder Jie asked with a smile.

"Oh, since they are playing on me, I will pay them with their own coin," Ezio said sinisterly.

"Right, right. I didn't hear you say that." Elder Jie shook his head helplessly. "Abbot, I submit the quest and reward. From now on whoever applies for the quest is not my concern."

"Alright. I received the request. I will handle it accordingly. Take care Elder Jie." He didn't necessarily come all the way to Abbot to submit a quest. It was obvious that Elder Jie had done it so Abbot could somehow finish the quest for Ezio behind the curtains. Since Ezio and Abbot were both here, there was nothing else Elder Jie could do.

"You are sure you can finish the quest without fighting against the tiger?" Abbot asked after Elder Jie left.

"Positive. I promise I will not fight against the tiger, nor kill any of the disciples." Ezio answered.

"You wouldn't be able to kill them, even if I asked you to," Abbot said helplessly. "Nevermind. I accept your request for the quest. If you bring the blood first, the ingot is yours. I will delay the quest for 24 hours, after that, I will send it to Management Hall."

"Thank you, Abbot," Ezio said as he stood up to leave.

"If you fight with the tiger, just die. Even if you survive, don't come back, or I will kill you." Abbot shouted behind Ezio, but Ezio was already too far away to hear it. "Such a brilliant boy, too bad he is too soft-hearted."
