Chapter 2 - Ezio

Swimming in the endless darkness, a strange peaceful feeling started to fill his little body, while he was still unaware if it was real or just his imagination. He was quite sure he died, but what had happened after that was just unclear. Dreams within dreams...

As he was still wondering as if he was an aimless soul cursed to drift in an endless void, an instant pain jerked through his soul. Instead of being afraid, he rejoiced and held onto this feeling. After all, the pain was proof of his existence. It was the first pain he felt after he started to drift endlessly.

Something appeared in his vision. The thing looked like a door made of magnificent woodwork. Wood was in the color of gold, with crimson inscriptions covering all of it. There were characters on the door giving an ancient vibe, but it was all foreign to him, nonetheless. Two doorknobs made of the most perfect metal in existence stood proudly in the middle of each door, and there was a slit in between. There was a calming and pressuring light seeping through this slit. It was weird. The light was beckoning to his soul. He could not disobey the summon. He drifted to this door without any will or wish to fight against it.

He reached for the knobs and opened the door. The door shut itself and vanished after he entered the room. What welcomed him was an octagonal room. The floor was made of black and gray stones, refreshing him when stepped on. The similar characters he did see on the door were on the walls as well, they weren't exactly the same, but somehow, he knew they were from the same source.

On each of the eight walls, words were written with these foreign characters. But unlike previous words, he somehow could understand those words. On the wall across from him was written 'Cultivation' in this ancient language. He could somehow decipher it, without knowing these characters.

He looked at other walls as well, but he could not understand them at all. Deciding not to ponder over it since it could not help him at all, he drew nearer to the only wall he could understand. When he landed before the wall, the window, a rectangle part of the wall, vanished and displayed what lay beyond the wall. The room had a few corners and there were only one or two items in each corner. One had a comfortable-looking mat and a blank scroll in front of it.

There were blank books and a stool in the other part of the room. The other corners were dark and could not be seen. But he could feel energies seeping through those parts. Pressuring his body and soul.

"What is this room? What should I do with this room?" He was confused. He already tried to pass through this rectangle opening but there was an energy curtain keeping him outside.

As he was pondering, he suddenly felt pressure around him. It felt like his whole body was oiled and pushed through a tight hole. He wanted to slip through it, but he wasn't sure what this was feeling. "What is happening to me?"

After what felt like hours, his head felt free, and his eyes started to itch. He could open them a little, and all he could see was green, pink, and some sunshine.

He recognized this pink thing as soon as his eyes lay on it. "Is this a childbirth? Am I being born?"

He completely left the womb after some time, and his navel cord was severed by a sharp sword. He received a strong hit on the butt, a cry left his mouth, and delivery was completed. The first air he took felt suffocating. Hurt his lungs so badly that he cried involuntarily. Because he was not a normal baby, and could actually think, he could avoid some stuff, like directing his gaze to the sun above to hurt his undeveloped eyes, because for some reason his mother wasn't covering them at all.

He turned and looked at her mother to see disgust, hate, and killing intent.

What the hell?

"I finally took that beast out of me. I can't believe the slim chance of pregnancy between me and that beast got me knocked up. And to think he was mixed blood just like me. This child is obstinate for sure. If I knew, I would use the pill. And it is he, not a baby girl. Should I leave him in the woods?" Mother said. She was a beautiful woman with red hair and blue eyes.

"No mother, you mustn't." another girl's voice came not from afar. The baby turned to look at her. She was a 12-13 years old loli with blue eyes, and red hair. As beautiful as her mother. "If this beast dies, his father will eradicate all of us."

"So, what should we do? I will not let a male enter my house. Not that beast's son above all." his mother said with a disgusted look again.

"I have an idea, mother." another girl's voice heard. The baby turned to look at the voice's owner. It was a 6-7 years old girl similar to his older sister but the smile she was wearing indicated she was up to no good. Her eyes were beaming with intelligence.

"Oh, my sweet Mia, what ideas do you have for your mother? Mother will surely listen to your advice." The mother said to Mia, with a doting smile, and a little dread on her face.

"Why don't we send this beast to that place, to knights? They will take care of him, and he will be raised by them. So, when his father comes, we can just receive him back to send him to his father. And we can even try to coax him to be our key to enter that place." Mia said.

"What a great idea. As expected of my little sister, as shrewd as ever." the older sister said with a smile.

"Thank you, Sister Mina," Mia said, looking delighted because she was praised.

"Yes, yes. That is a surprisingly clever idea. Elenor, come out you slave." The mother shouted as she was lying on the ground. From the woods, a giant silhouette walked out. She was a 2.5-meter tall giant woman with blonde hair, green eyes, and a good figure. Because of the rags she was wearing, and the slave tattoo on her face, her beauty was hidden but she was a beauty, nonetheless.

"Take this beast to that place." Mother ordered.

"Will be done, m'lady," Giant said and held the baby carefully to not hurt him. She had a sad look on her face when she looked at the baby. She helplessly dashed towards the endless greenery. She was trying to find a solution, but she couldn't think of anything. There was no other better than knights, but it would be sad for this cute baby.

In the end, she looked in one direction and sighed. There was a ring tattoo on her finger, with a thought it started to shine and flew towards the baby's chest.

"I never figured out what this thing is, but I hope it will help you on your journey, you will need anything that can help you."
