Chapter 1 - Prologue

Synopsis

"We are the three great families, why do we still look for ways to surpass one another even at a time like this?" Lord Destan Arnot shouts. The meeting hall falls into silence as all eyes turn to look towards him. He continues, "We believe peace and harmony is the only way to achieve the task of protecting the world yet we sit here, more than half the continent destroyed, millions of our people dead and our barrier broken, blaming one another for the cause of this disaster rather than finding a way to end the destruction of the Outer gods". The families in the hall murmur in agreement as Lord Destan offers a suggestion, "A prophecy has been foretold, one that involves the three great families, a child born to each, a new blessing from the gods, the beginning of a new era to carry out what we and our ancestors could never do. Our final task should be passing on our knowledge and skills to our young ones, no matter how harsh and cruel it might be, we will have to send them out to the 4 continents to end the chaos, for they are our last hope."

Dreven is a lost continent ruled by the three great families. The houses given the title the three great families are families who had been carefully chosen by the gods for their service and dedication to whom they worshipped but each of this families come from a race; Humans, Half-lings and Nephilim's. The House Arnot belongs to the Human race, which are blessed with a natural proficiency in weapon use but a special trait called weapon master can only be seen once in 3 decades from the great family Arnot, a stigma given to them by the god of war, Ares. The two great families remaining are the House Isla and House Virgio. The House Isla belongs to the Half-ling race, naturally blessed with vision some even able to see into the future from the great family Isla, a stigma given to them by their god, Athena. The house Virgio belongs to the Nephilim race, blessed with mage craft and weapon creation but summoning beasts as strong as the individual only second nature to the house Virgio, a stigma given to them by their god, Prometheus.

While the families continued to discuss in the meeting hall, Emilia (Milia) Virgio, June Isla and Gareth (Gar) Arnot, the three who were already in their seventeenth year, born on the same day and time with stigmas far surpassing those before them were currently in training as they had been for the past twelve years to control and polish their abilities. Left out of the meeting to practice with their retainers unaware of the prophecy regarding them and why they had undergone a more difficult training under the instruction of the best retainers from each house, Luther from House Virgio, Sera from House Isla and Ruby from House Arnot. These three knew well of the fate that lay ahead of the ones they trained and cherished, volunteering to serve them to the end, a gesture only done when one realized their purpose to life.

Lord Ryan Isla, admiring the Lord Destan Arnot's speech looks towards Lord Braun and nods his head in approval, Lord Braun stands and faces the congregation, finally speaking up, "What Lord Destan speaks is the truth, we no longer have connection to the gods who once gave us direct support but they have given us the prophesied children and we have no choice but to allow them seek the answer we could not find ourselves", Lord Ryan looks to his personal guard and signals him to call the children and their retainers, the guard rushes to do that as Lord Braun continues, "And so it is by a unanimous agreement by we three lords that tomorrow when day breaks we send out the children with their retainers, though it will be a cruel journey for them, they are this worlds last hope, we pray for the gods protection if they still exist". The children who already had been standing by the door heard all of these, though shocked realized this was the reason they felt they were unfairly treated. It had been twelve years of rigorous training even to a point their peers and adults of higher class couldn't keep up, but still they kept pushing them past their limit. A different path had been set out for them, one they never knew off but were obliged to carry out. How will they defeat what they've never seen or fought?

Prepare for the journey says Lord Destan, may the gods be with you, our children.
