"You're quite knowledgeable about health matters" Shen Yin muttered softly. However, she knew that he was right, so she obediently drank the bowl of hot soup in one gulp.
"How did you take care of yourself all these years?" Lian Jing frowned disdainfully. He carefully peeled a prawn and tossed it into her bowl.
Shen Yin smiled sheepishly. "Actually, Nian Nian took care of me. I'm usually busy with work and often forget to eat. If it not for Nian Nian, I would have developed gastric problems long ago."
Lian Jing stopped peeling the prawns for her and asked casually, "Why did you give birth to Nian Nian as a single mother? You might have had a better life without him."
Shen Yin's lowered eyes were filled with loneliness. She sighed and said with a bitter smile, "I couldn't bear to give him up. Besides, I didn't want to marry anyone else then. Nian Nian might be the only child I ever had."
