Reinard was sitting quietly, a gentle smile playing on his lips while spinning around in his swivel chair.
Mino was a person who hated suspense. So he decided to ask him directly, "Sir Doc... please don't beat around the bush any longer... tell me what you want to."
Hearing Mino's pleading tone, Reinard raised his eyebrow in amusement. Stopping his chair he faced Mino before sending a withering glare in his direction.
Mino shriveled up on seeing that, but he had more in store for him. Reinard asked him with a quiet voice, "I'm sure you remember your promise?"
"I sure do."
"That's good, since you are putting your own self in danger of you don't listen to me. Mind it, the consequences will be dire if you dare to open your mouth." Reinard poured himself and Mino a glass of water after finishing the sentence.
"Yes, now let's get to the crux of the matter." Reinard took in a deep breath, as if preparing himself, while Mino held his breath in anticipation.
"Basically, in this planet Earth, you aren't alone." His word carried an ominous undertone in it, Mino couldn't help but feel unsettled.
"W-what do you mean...?" he staggered.
"it's just as I mean. you have been healed by someone, rescuing you from your mortal wound. Or do you better believe you are Wolverine with advanced regeneration?!"
Reinard slammed his hand on the desk and Mino felt as if the entire room vibrated.
"I'm sure you meet someone. Someone with supernatural powers. Yes Mino, there are people holding such powers. You must have read stuff like magic in novels, yes things like those!" Reinard insisted.
But Mino wasn't gonna buy that. In order to prevent an extreme reaction from Sir Doc, he just pretended to be shocked and moved on.
"Why are they here? And I guess you are one of them are well? Since you know so much about them..."
"Heh! you catch on quick." Reinard helplessly snorted.
"I indeed am one of them. That's why I know such things. As for why I am here... is to escape from a group called hunters. they hold similar powers but are more skilled and powerful than us. I would have liked to show proof that I am doing the truth, but I am afraid their technician might detect my presence. I am helpless in direct combat.
Mino thought to himself, "Yeah pretty comfortable excuse..."
"So you guys are criminals? People are seeking you, why?"
"Because we know to much. About what, don't ask that. We won't we be saying that to anyone unrelated. Sorry for that."
Noticing the serious look on Reinard's face, Mino could help think, "Is sir Doc actually telling the truth? no one can lie with such straight a face... Nope, perhaps it's my inner desire to believe a fantasy world exists in real world."
"Mino, we might turn back to our world soon, so be prepared to be confident without me around." Reinard had a gentle smile, like the one he usually had when he mentioned Mino.
"Aughh... how much more clichéd can it become! It might be end of March, but that doesn't means you can try an April fool now! Other world my ass! Stop making everything dramatic and stupid Sir." Mino uttered under his breath.
"I see derision and sarcasm in your mind. That's natural, but keep the promise, then hopefully you will be exempt from suffering. you may leave the room now, I have important calls to make". As soon as Mino went out, the door swiftly closed, leaving him behind.
"Otherworlds huh? Nope, Too much for me to digest. I will remember what had happened in the interval before I lost consciousness.
Then I will point out to him that he's wrong. He didn't even show me a spell!" Mino was damn sure that Reinard was making it up. What Sir Doc's mission or purpose was, he was unaware.
"Mino, stay out of it, I don't want you to be taken as an hostage and used against us..." Reinard eyes reflected a sad look with tears in them. Then, he started to spin around in his swivel chair again.
