Chapter 1 - Introduction

They say that love is something that is worth fighting for. That it fills a hole inside of us that nothing else can. Love is what people spend their whole lives searching for, yearning for. And yet, people skim over the fact that it is the one thing that can destroy the most intimate parts of your soul. That it brings some to their knees in agony, and that with love comes the inevitable war. Internal and, in some cases, external. As if it's worth all the pain, and complications. Finding one's soulmate is for some, their biggest dream, or wish. That they would give anything to find the one person that was made for them, fated for them. Me? There's not a chance in hell that I would search for the one thing that has the capability, the power to destroy me. I did a damn good job at avoiding it too. For the most part.

I slip up on occasion, though, and lust takes over. Who am I kidding, that's completely normal for a nymph. Not like a nymphomaniac, well, at one point that was true, too. I mean an actual nymph, like, Greek mythology type nymph. One with light blonde hair, emerald green eyes, and barely reaching 5 feet off the ground. In the past, the supernatural world, and the human world didn't mix; they were kept separate from one another with secrets and lies. When they did mix, wars broke out everywhere. Eventually, those wars died down, species mixed, fell in love, brought peace with them and the whole nine yards. We do a pretty good job keeping order amongst us, and for the most part, the mingling and mixing did well to the ecosystem. Nymphs tended to nature and other kinds of what used to be mythical creatures, fell into their own harmony as well. How does that tie into all of this?

Well, I used to attend Adolphus Academy. A school for all kinds of everyone's. Humans, to werewolves, to even demigods. Oh demigods, top of the food chain, always destined for greatness. If you couldn't already taste the bitterness of my words, I'll let you know now, that I have certain opinions on demigods. Why, you ask? Well, why don't we take a trip down memory lane? I've got some time to spare.
