~~CARMELA POV~~
" Excuse me ma " I opened my eyes to find a lady in a black suit
" Mr dean asked you to come to the room," she said and left. I wasn't feeling well and it felt as if my head was about to fall off my body. My clothes were already dried up and I lazily made my way back to the hotel room the door was slightly opened when I arrived
" I hope you enjoyed your night," zamiel said immediately after I stepped in, seems he just came out of the bathroom as his hair is still dripping water.
" go freshen up and I'll order breakfast our flight is in the next hour " I didn't give him a response and went into the bathroom stripped off my clothes and got under the shower. I couldn't stop sneezing and it was tiring
I forgot to take my clothes along with me so I came out with my towel to find zamiel on his laptop.
I sneezed gaining his attention and I could feel his hot gaze on me
" go get dressed your breakfast is here," he said and I sluggishly went to get dressed.
I came back to where zamiel was sitting and seeing the food laid on the table I just lost appetite. I didn't feel like having scrambled eggs and coffee for breakfast. I just sat down starring at the food right in front of me feeling my eyes become heavy
" Seems you aren't hungry and didn't have enough sleep " I opened my eyes to find him starring at me
" can ... I please ... have butternut squash soup," I said feeling my throat sore
" you only get what I give you " he stood up closing his laptop
" Since you don't want to have your breakfast let's head to the airport
we arrived at the airport and I could feel my body weaken. unlike the last time, we traveled alone this time we'll be traveling with Xavier and one other guy
" hey," Xavier said taking a sit beside me
" hi "
" what's up with you, you don't look good "
" am fine," I said bringing out my pump
" what's with the pump "
" a. I have asthma and since am a bit scared of flying ... "
" wait you haven't traveled in a plane before," he asked with wide eyes
" I have, I mean I traveled here using a plane but am just a bit scared "
" don't worry it will be okay "he held my hand as the plane began taking off. I wasn't really scared unlike last time and I didn't use my pump
" ahh my hand " I heard Xavier whisper and I opened my eyes to see I was squeezing his hand
" am sorry," I said leaving his hand
" It's okay, so where were we "
" ahem about what " I did remember us discussing anything.
" here " he handed me two energy bars
" it's going to be a long trip so you'll be needing it "
" Okay "
unlike zamiel Xavier is more friendly and interactive and I seem to like him
" Can I ask you something," he said going through his phone
" yes " I took a bite of one of the energy bar
" how did all this happen," he said showing me a post with the # THE KEN TWINS ARE VENGEFUL and another one with # TWINS STICK UP FOR ONE ANOTHER
" when in the hell did all this happen, " I asked surprised.
" it says zamiel Dean's contract girlfriend was shown her place by the ken twins " hearing this reminded me of the day at the mall
" Ohh," I said
" so which of you did this " he raised his eyebrow
"It was me," I said nervously
" what the fuck go n tell me about it," he said which made me smile for the very first time since I got married
~~ XAVIER POV ~~
Seeing Carmela smile gave me immense happiness. she has the prettiest smile and I couldn't help but wonder why zamiel hate her so much
I look at her beautiful face as she sleeps innocently with her head resting on my shoulder. I just wish I could help her out of the clutches of my brother or at least make her life easy, but theirs absolutely nothing I can do about this.
I saw her sleeping at the reception yesterday and for some reason, I felt heartbroken. I wanted to cover her with a blanket but zamiel held my hand
" what the fuck are you trying to do," he said with a cold voice which got me nervous
" what do you think am doing she's cold "
" and so what "
" come on brother she's a human being," I said trying to reason with him
" and she's my wife, no one tells me how I treat her or behave with her "
" come on man why are you so heartless what did she ever do to you "
" Xavier this should be my first and final warning to you, never get involved in my issues unless you'll see the bad side of me," he said giving off a very dark aura. I got so annoyed that I threw away the blanket.
I turned to find zamiel staring in my direction but he wasn't looking at me he was looking at Carmela withh so with affection but in a blink of an eye, rage could be vividly seen in his eyes. it was as if I was mistaken
The plane landed but Carmela was still asleep
" Carmela wake up "
" hmm "
" we've landed, " I said and she yawned stretching
" okay let's go " she stood up leading the way to the door and I could see zamiel giving me death stares, Asher, on the other hand, didn't seem to care less as usual
" Xavier you and Asher have some work to complete at work so I'll be taking my wife from here " he pulled Carmela towards him wrapping his arms around her waist
" Okay," I said and left with Asher
~~CARMELA POV~~
I was greatly surprised at Zamiel's behavior but he didn't even alter a word after we entered the car. My phone began ringing and after seeing the caller I felt my spirit jump out of my body
" Hello mum," I said trying to sound excited
" Carmela I want you here right this moment," she said and ended the call
mum not saying a thing means trouble for me, I just pray dad isn't as upset as her.
" Mr dean can you please drop me at my parent's place," I asked praying he wouldn't refuse
" driver take us to ken villa " was all he said and I was more than relieved.
we arrived at ken villa and I was very nervous. from the faces of the servants I could tell mum had made their life a living hell in the past two days
" Carmela dear how are you doing " grandma hugged me and pecked me all over my face
" Grandma am fine how about you, " I said with a smile
" well your mum has been barking like a dog with rabies ever since she found out that you married zamiel instead of Carlene just be careful " she whispered
I turned to look at mum who had a straight face and dad who's a face I couldn't read
" m ... mum, dad is here " I said and none of them said a thing.
Carlene on the other hand sat opposite them with her face facing the ground
" mum please say something please " I pleaded starting to feel scared
" I should say something, what do you want me to say? should I congratulate both you and your sister for successfully deceiving everyone including zamiel " mum said in a cold emotionless tone and I just wished she could scream at me then speak so quietly cause it's starting to freak me out
" Carlene, I asked you if you truly wanted this marriage and you said yes and that you love him, then where's that love, what happened to the love? I told you that you're too young to get married and you didn't know anything about marriage but you refused to say you love him so why did Carmela marry him instead of you huh ? " mum screamed at Carlene
" And you, have always known you to be quiet and enduring but I didn't expect you to be such a fool. Did you marry zamiel instead of your sister? what do you expect him to think of us and also you accepted to marry him without informing your dad nor I like seriously you both take us for a fool " mum screamed and I felt like crying, this is the very first-time mum is scolding me every since I became I, teenager. I didn't want to cry but my tears betrayed me, they were flowing like a waterfall
' you guys are betrayals ' I said cursing my tears
" Carmela this isn't the time to cry I want you to speak up," dad said and I could tell he was trying to be calm.
" I married zamiel because I love him "
' wait what, what a foolish excuse Carmela am surely going to wash my tongue with acid after saying all this shit '
" what " mum screamed
" yes I am the one who loves zamiel not her but I wasn't able to tell him about it when he approached me asking me to be his girlfriend so I asked Carlene to pretend to be me but when I heard he proposed to her I was really mad at her but she told me she didn't want to marry him and I can marry him "
