Chapter 1 - How innocent young people are dishonestly been deprived; scammed

The flimflam of Nicolas

The inability for wealth or success is conceived to be poverty, and it harbors and instinctive force that prompts one to always make a move; either positively or negatively. some negative move includes: stealing, rubbing, assassination, scamming, embezzlement of public fund and other forms of corruption and evil. Moreover, the positive step entails: hard work, entrepreneur, agricultural initiative, education, craft work and other skills acquisition programs. At some points, one chooses to invest mostly on online platforms to yield much for the future. This idea is believed to be ideal, but the fate of the investor is un-president, in a case of a sudden collapse, the supposed 'ideal' becomes a direct opposite that ushers in the verisimilitude tale of Nicolas.

Nicolas is a promising young man with great vision; religiously active and academically bright. He is brought up by godly parents - Mr. &Mrs. Christopher Hanson belonging to the middle class of social strata of Zuru clan. After few years of graduation from secondary school, Nicolas aspired to further his studies to higher learning on English and Literature. The citadel of learning was named Prestige University (PRESUNI), Senyka. Fortunately, he gained admission into the institution, guess what? Funding became a prayer-point after his first level. However, his first semester of level 100, he had left to school with insufficient fund by which few documentation and signing was made except school fee. He conceived that school fee could be paid later provided acceptance fee is paid, then he went further to lavish the balance he had. The semester got to examination period yet Nicolas has not collected reg. Number and he is at the penalty of missing scripts. Level 200 began, he managed to see most of his scripts except psychology and Neoclassical literature.

On a fateful holiday, Nicolas traveled home to spend the break as he was teaching in his former work place. There he was informed by his colleagues - Leonard and Mikel of an online platform that boosts anyone's income on monthly basis, Nicolas hoped he could grab the "opportunity" as it knocked. On his way back to campus after the holiday, Again, fortunately for him, his uncle sent N50,000 for his school fee, on seeing the alert, "I can't believe my eye" so he said, Dad! Dad!! He shouted on phone when he called the father to inform him of the favour, the family rejoiced and sincerely thanked the uncle. Nicolas reached school, the next morning, he contemplated on the issue of investment into the online business and payment of school fee. His quest to establish a reliable source of income even as a student pushed him to "invest with the N50,000 which was the least package of the investment. He kept on monitoring the platform and receiving information from coordinators and agents in order to receive the monthly pay of N8,000 as enshrined in terms and conditions. Two days after the actual date to be paid, there was a memo about sudden increase of each customer's earning as a way of gratitude, Nicolas was frightened and did not take pleasure on the new development, he secretly became emotionally destabilized, that made him to say words of prayer every now and then yet could not disclose to parents.

The tension became much on him, he called the friend and the agent approximately on daily basis, three months after, the whole clashing became real. The friend- uncle Derrick only apologized and consoled Nicolas for the 'irrefundable' loss of fee, "be strong as a man, you will make it still, successful men take risks" so he said.
